http://www.khou.com/topstories/stories/khou061114_mh_wearyarrested.38edbae8.html Houston police arrested Texans offensive lineman Fred Weary Tuesday after he allegedly resisted arrest during a routine traffic stop. Police sources told 11 News they were forced to Taser Weary during the confrontation. Weary was pulled over near Boudreaux's Cajun Kitchen near Loop 610 and Fournace Tuesday afternoon. Police stopped him because he didn't have a front license plate. Officers say he refused to give them his driver's license, appeared aggitated and was verbally combative. They say he pushed the male officer and that's when the female officer Tasered him. At last check, Weary remained in jail and was expected to be charged with resisting arrest. Team officials held a news conference where they released a one-sentence statement saying they "were gathering the facts" but had no other comment. The Texans selected Weary in the third round of the 2002 draft. He grew up in Alabama and played college ball at Tennessee. ************************************************************ Well how do you escalate a stop for no front license plate to resisting arrest and getting tasered?? Be combative and refuse to cooperate with police. When they keep asking for your identification you start a physical altercation by pushing the cops. All I can think of is that commercial jingle "Real men of genius".
