I don't think anyone is going to agree with me here, but looking at it from another point of view, besides a fan perspective, losing a game could actually help us. Think about it. The last time GB was 10-0 their first loss came on Thanksgiving against the Lions, in which Lombardi himself said the loss took a lot of pressure off their shoulders about going undefeated. The Saints back in 2009 were stunned by the Dallas Cowboys, but still gave it all their fire power to try and win that game, but after the loss, Sean Payton said the game didn't matter to him, and they were bound to lose eventually, better in the regular season than playoffs. Anyone remember the 1998 Vikings lone loss to a divisional opponent? That team didn't win the Super Bowl, but they could have easily been undefeated had it not been for the tricky Buccaneers. In The documentary "The Missing Rings", John Randle talked about that one loss and how it brought them down to earth, taking the pressure of an undefeated season off their back. Teams are giving us their 100% in games, and have been all year long, not just because we're undefeated, but because we're the defending Super Bowl Champions, and that's why our defense is getting lit up so bad. When you are the defending champs, that's just enough motivation to play your 100%, no matter what. But when you finally do lose that one game, they all say it takes the pressure off your back. The pressure will be on us if we do go undefeated. Just look at the Patriots a few years ago. I'm not saying I want us to lose a game, don't take it the wrong way, but at this point in the season, I don't see a loss really hurting us that bad. We're 10-0, all we have to do is lock up the #1 seed, the division title is basically already ours, but we're set to go after that. A good example of that is the Redskins back in 1991. They lost their first game after starting 11-0 to the Cowboys, and they barely lost at that, but even at 11-1, no one was going to take the #1 seed away from them. No one would win more than 11 games in the NFC that year, besides the Lions, who went 12-4 under Barry Sanders, but even that, the Skins still slaughtered them on opening day, so that would have been the tie breaker had Washington finished 12-4 instead of 14-2. Unlike the 1991 Skins, we have some stronger competition. The 49ers are just one game behind us, and with their easy schedule, they could finish 13-3 or 12-4 (what I have them at) that is why it's important we get more wins than them. We do not want to be traveling around in the playoffs, we want home field advantage over all. If we finished 14-2 and the 49ers finished 12-4, that would do it for the playoffs, we'd run the table then.
