#5 Chad lucas 6-1 201 1 yr. Did some good things in NFL Europe.
#6 Calvin Russell 6-1 201 R an unknown qty.
#8 Leo Bookman 6-2 212 R Good size, fast, out of football and needs substantial development time. If cut probably never get back to practice squad.
#13 Chris Francies 6-1 193 R. Has problems running proper routes.
#18 Ruvell Martin 6-4 217 1 yr. Size, moves and hands. possibel replacement for Fergy.
#19 Vince Butler 6-0 195 1 yr. Not a likely candidate for staying around.
#80 Donald Driver 6-0 190 8 yrs. our #1 receiver needs on field help.
#81 Cory Rodgers 6-0 186 R Possible KR probably not a top flight WR.
#82 Rod Gardner 6-2 215. 6 yrs. Has attitude problems.
#83 Marc Boerigter 6-3 220 5 Yrs. Good size and hands. Has done the most in OTA's.
#85 Greg Jennings 5-11 197 R Has looked good in OTA's in spite of size. Should make roster.
#89 6-1 210 6 yrs. Has all the tools but lacks game time performances; probably outlived his welcome.
Does GB keep six of these guys?
Who are the most likely early cuts?
My choices for keepers are: D. Driver, Marc Boerigter, Ruvell Martin, Greg Jennings, Leo Bookman, Chad Lucas or Cory Rodgers.

He's been labeled a bust after being a 1st rd 'stud' and hasn't produced.
Dendy stated that he and Ferguson do the most complaining and well lets face it, no one likes complainers.

I like Gardner to make the team ahead of Ferguson. <wont happen though because of dollars spent on fergson >

I definitely see Gardner as the better player. I have not seen anything in Ferguson that shows he will get any better

Redskins ran a different offense then the Packers did and also had a crappy QB rotation for a few years plus a coaching carosel which is never good.

I think Gardner did more with less than Ferguson did. And if that is your point as well, oops my bad lol

Bookman has the worst hands of the group and he wasn't on anyone's radar when TT picked him up. Speed is nice, but it doesn't mean much if you can't catch the ball.

He's an interesting prospect who needs a lot of development time. At this point both Rodgers and Martin are way ahead of him.

I think we keep 6 WRs:
Driver, Fergy, Gardner, Jennings, Rodgers, and either Martin or Boerigter. On most teams Boerigter would beat our the 3 rookies, but TT showed that he favored young players with potential last season and will likely do the same this season.

Impossible to stay with unless you got your hands on him at release. Now who do we believe? LOL Yes! I would love to see him develop on the practice squad but, really doubt the Pack could get him on theirs. Think other teams are now aware of his abilities and am sure some have seen his earlier workouts.

Now if he actually does have good hands and can continually stretch the defense with he speed, then of course we should keep him. Otherwise he's likely to be just another track star bust at WR.

I agree with your assessment here. Bookman is intriguing with all that speed but I've heard his hands are extremely suspect.

Kind of like having a leadoff hitter in baseball that can't keep from hitting flyballs. Speed doesn't help much if you can't catch the ball in this case.

I've heard Ruvell Martin has been pretty productive but I just can't see him supplanting any of the guys you've listed.

It has been said Bookman has played some CB/S so, perhaps his peed, height and size would be an asset there. Don't mind me, just looking for some fresh blood on this team; seeing as GB is re-building in spite of what we hear, why not go all the way? Enough of these guys who never quite made it elsewhere or come back every year with a new tale of how good they'll be.

Maybe Bookman has played DB, but I'm just wondering if you're confusing him with Blackmon who is a rookie DB that played receiver during his last year in college.

Gardner is in the coachs doghouse and would be a less cap hit if we cut him instead of Fergy.

:shock: According to an interview in Pack Plus with Bookman, he claims that although he played very little receiver; mostly special teams and some CB/S he was originally a football player turned sprinter and wants to be back in football. Haven't heard whether GB has tried him at any other positions other then WR. I suppose Cliff Christl should know about the hands though.
