ESPN-Ranking the 5 WORST NFL OFFSEASONS BY TEAM

I think it is hard to draw conclusions from last years target numbers. Basically no WR held their spot in their spot in the rotation throughout the season. MVS and Allison both lost a significant amount of playing time late in the season and Lazard didn't start playing until midway through the...

All the draft complaining...let's look over the past 10 seasons...

My frustration (and I'm guessing many others) comes from the fact that after many years of bad/mediocre drafts and very few FA signings in TT's late years, last offseason and last season we suddenly changed our trajectory and it looked like we would compete for a SB in the remaining AR years...

All the draft complaining...let's look over the past 10 seasons...

Even if Rodgers wasn't a sure thing, what does that have to do with Love becoming a good/great NFL QB? Taking Rodgers was a big risk and it paid off. Now, 15 years later, taking Love is also a big risk. We will see if it pays off. They are two different players/people. I know most people aren't...

All the draft complaining...let's look over the past 10 seasons...

I was more referring to the years discussed in this thread. Basically the end of TT's career. Peppers was the only impact signing I can recall during these years and it worked out very well as we were a 4th quarter collapse away from a SB. There were several years we had glaring holes in our...

All the draft complaining...let's look over the past 10 seasons...

I think we need to couple the draft results with the lack of impact FA's up until last offseason to get a full picture of why our defense has been poor for nearly a decade and why the roster was lacking overall talent when Gute took over.

Is this the worst draft in this decade for the Packers?

You calling this a great trade based off of a trade chart might be more ridicoulous than people already proclaiming it a bad trade. I don't disagree with the overall premise of what you are getting at with all your posts (ie that the pick has been made, let's see if it pans out) but many of the...

Is this the worst draft in this decade for the Packers?

I'm guessing this is a response to my last post. I agree many people have written Love off far too early and are being irrational. This is different. We know Love won't play for the next 2-3 or maybe 4 years of his rookie contract. We know we were in the NFCCG last season. We know we have holes...

Is this the worst draft in this decade for the Packers?

I get what you are saying but I don' think I'm overthinking it. I personally will not consider the selection successful if Love is just a capable starter given the context in which the franchise currently stands (HOF QB, NFCCG, Love on the bench for ~3 years of his rookie contract, needs at...

Is this the worst draft in this decade for the Packers?

I think it is more complicated than this. If Love becomes a solid/mid-tier starting QB but we gave up a 1st and a 4th with a HOF QB's career winding down, I don't think the pick is worth it. IMO, for this selection to be worth it either (or possibly both) of the following scenarios need to...

The Point of the Draft Picks

    Completely agree with this.

The Point of the Draft Picks

Hopefully we aren't done in Free Agency. There are still some players at iDL and CB available that will likely be cheaper after the draft. Less so with ILB's though. I would imagine Taylor Gabriel's price tag has dropped due to the strong WR class as well.

The Point of the Draft Picks

I'm glad you can feel confident in relying on rookies drafted 175th or later and UDFA in the secondary and linebacker unit to turn around our defense from last year but I would rather that not rely on that. I also specifically mentioned top draft capital who are more likely to make an impact...

The Point of the Draft Picks

Much of the draft analysis both on here and around the internet is so focused on offense. If we are moving to a run heavy offense that doesn't use a lot of 3 or 4 WR sets, then not drafting a WR seems acceptable (not my preference, but it's plausible that it works and helps keep AR healthy). My...

2020 Packers first round pick: Jordan Love, QB

We don't have a 4th. I think it is safe to say a late 5th round pick and a bunch of 6th and 7th round picks will not make a huge difference this upcoming year.
