Well if a "championship" truly is a "championship"...then I guess the Vikings have 22 "championships" (counting Divisional and conference championships)
Well there's lots of "possibilities" and "theories"...but the fact remains, GB told Favre that "the train has left the station". After all that Favre has given to GB Packers and the community, I personally feel that GB should have reversed that train...even a couple times if Favre had a change...
What I meant was why draft Rodgers with the intention of starting him? Wolf drafted QB's but never had the intention of starting them unless there was a serious injury to Brett or what not. They were backups or possible trade bait.
Packer's should have drafted to support Favre, not replace him.
Yea of course I would pick Rodgers over Favre...if there was never ever going to be another decent QB in the draft for the next 10 years.
But we all know that is unlikely to be the case. There's lots of QB talent in the draft at least every 2 or 3 years. So why draft Rodgers in 2005? I mean...
But your above quote can also be attributed to Rodgers himself. Picking a QB can be, and usually is, a crap shoot.
So there's no need to take that sort of crap shoot gamble early (drafting Rodgers in 2005 and starting him) especially when a proven QB (Favre) was still producing.
Any rational person, w/o sour grapes, would pick Favre.
There's no hard proof that Rodgers can be a star QB. As of this moment, he is a serviceable starting QB. You don't get rid of a STAR QB, coming off a 13-3 season, with a serviceable QB.
Now Rodgers MIGHT blossom into a STAR/Franchise...
Sure you can boo anyone you want...it's not illegal to boo.
But it is still classless to boo a QB who brought your team up from the ashes of the 1980's.
