Having gone through several calf strains myself (all were running injuries), it really depends on severerity. There have been a couple times where I was back at it in 2-4 weeks, one time it was well over a month before I felt 100%. I'm also the same age as A-Rod. Just speaking for me personally...

Two keys (in my opinion), and they both fall with the lines. 1) Offensive line needs to continue to give A-Rod the time he needs (as someone mentioned, keep his jersey clean). 2) Defensive line needs to step up and get a respectable pass rush.

The only upside I can see to signing Edwards is that he could give the team some insight (if the Packers were to play the 49ers). The defensive staff and Edwards would probably have a good discussion. I wouldn't see him getting any playing time though...

I do not believe that firing him is the answer (IMO). If we were not plagued with injuries right now we could probably be 5-0...then we would see posts that Mike McCarthy should be Coach of the Year. I think we are blaming him for the injuries and 3-2 start, when it is not his fault alone...
