Well, it is mostly preference. Do you want a power back or scat back? I just don't see Moreno's "wiggle" tranfering all that well. I like Wells' downhill style and he has more breakaway speed. I see Moreno like Carnell Williams and Wells more like Brown........
I think you are confusing top 12 prospects with Jarron Gilbert. You shouldn't talk about top 8 picks and a second-third round prospect in the same light. Both Nagta and Williams were still projected top 10 picks the entire offseason, Williams a projected top 2. He really wasn't a reach at #1...
Johnson is arguably the most talented DE/rushers in this draft. I wouldn't be against taking him in the second, but there a couple other "athletes" that have the same game as him that we could get there or later, like Barwin, Brown, etc.
That is also the work of the greatest scouting department in the world........ SI :D .................The guy is a third round prospect that will probably be taken in the second because of upside. A lot of people love him b/c of youtube videos of him jumping out of a kiddy pool and a Draft...
I wouldn't be against trading down in the first IF we got two first rounders from Philly, or got the 20th pick and 33rd from Det. We would get two quality guys then.....
I don't know why you guys are saying that we should take a player just for a need. Rookies shouldn't be taken to start.
I don't put a lot of stock in his pro-day/combine. Leg strength/technique is much more important anyways.... but really, He was the best OL in the country in the best conference. He would be a great pick at 9.
So, we can't justify paying a guy 8 million one year (frontloading a contract) and then paying him next to nothing the next 4 years? Teams do that all the time. It is good cap management.
Usually you don't expect a transition year after
1) Two years from going to the NFC championship game
2) When you've had the youngest team in football two years in a row
3) When it is your GM's 4th year
Face it, TT's philosophies aren't that great. Building through the draft is ideal when your...
At least to me, I wouldn't mind if we went for Maybin. He is by far the quickest out of all the rush-backer prospects. You can always add strength, but you can't teach his first step
Well, suggs and Peppers weren't FA's.... I wouldn't give up on Collins. Young pro bowl safeties are pretty nice.... But I'd definitely give up on Colledge and Spitz though, even though we wouldn't have to. We have about 35 million in space right now. If you think 8 for Jennings, 6 for Collins, 5...
