    Vilma a scapegoat?

If you look at anything in a vacuum, it requires plenty of mental gymnastics. A murder weapon in a vacuum is just a gun. By itself it doesn't tell you anything. Even if the gun is registered to the killer. They could just have a gun. But if only 1 shot was used to kill the victim and...

    Vilma a scapegoat?

Also, "just play dumb" is very telling. Play dumb? If you're playing dumb, you're willfully acting ignorant on a subject you know about, correct?

    Vilma a scapegoat?

Don't look at the document in a vacuum. Since we know a bounty system existed, the "affidavit" (it's not really an affidavit) Confirms what we know. Even if we didn't know it... "Williams said he was going to deny the existence of any bounty on any player to the NFL, and I should deny it...

    Vilma a scapegoat?

One can gather from that document... -Hargrove knew of the bounty system -Hargrove lied about his knowledge of the bounty system -Hargrove's lies helped protect the bounty system which in turn makes him an active participant of the operation of the bounty system. Yes, he doesn't come out and...

    Vilma a scapegoat?

Agreed it's a little misleading to call her independent, but I don't think it makes her opinion invalid. No reason for White to lie about anything and I don't think she mischaracterized anything. Hargrove lied about the bounty system no matter how he phrased it. We know there was one...

    Vilma a scapegoat?

I'm not praising the owners for being innovative, but I am saying that their money turned football from a game into a business and thus created the large pot of money for all the players. You're right, someone else would have monetized the game if the guys who did didn't do it, I'm not debating...

    Vilma a scapegoat?

Come on now, really? Her representation of the document wasn't grossly exaggerated. It proved he lied. Lying about the Bounty scandal proves participation. If you drive the getaway car in a murder, you're still a participant. I understand the NFL pays White, but really? You don't think...

    Vilma a scapegoat?

morningwood, I think you're missing a few pieces in that theory. Goodell knew about the Bounty system in 2009 and asked them to stop. They didn't. He spent 3 years gathering evidence. The evidence was reviewed by one of the best attorneys in the county, Mary Jo White, whose job isn't to...

    Vilma a scapegoat?

The league allowed all of the players to meet with Goodell. They chose not to. Why not? That's not how an innocent person acts. Look at the Bountygate reaction by the Saints compared to the wiretapping accusation. There was a resounding "NO!!!". Here we have conflicting statements...

    Vilma a scapegoat?

@Jaybadger, I feel like we're both missing what the other meant. All I'm saying with the owners is...you take them away and there's no football like it is. Guys being great at football wouldn't make money without people funding it. At the same time, guys with money can't have football without...

    Vilma a scapegoat?

I don't oppose that, I just oppose many inherently believing Goodell is probably lying. By law, everything he did is legal.

Florio is just pro-page hits. I do respect Freeman, though. Look at Florio when Sapp revealed Shockey as the whistleblower and look at him now. Big difference. But, may I ask, what motivation does Goodell have to make this up?

    Vilma a scapegoat?

I forgot to reply to you! My apologies! It's frivolous in the sense that it's a $9billion industry and the workers aren't being treated unfairly. Unions were necessary back when people weren't allowed to take bathroom breaks on their 16 hour shift. When its main duty is to just bust balls...

Why Brett doesn't deserve to have his number retired

Very rational view on things. This is how I view player transactions by TT. I trust him to do well and unless he reallllllly does something insane, I give him the benefit of the doubt. It's a nice stress free way to live.
