NFCCG 2016 -- revenge tour goes to Atlanta!!

I think most of those guys will come down to pregame workouts. Tretter had knee surgery on tuesday so no reason to keep his roster spot filled when you could use it on insurance. I'm not that worried yet.

NFCCG 2016 -- revenge tour goes to Atlanta!!

Looks like due to weather the packers are going to be busing to Milwaukee to fly out.

    I am shocked!

It's not always that easy. It's not fantasy football where it's plug and play. Owen Daniels went to Denver because of Kubiak. He's been with Kubiak for most of his career. I don't think you can automatically assume he'd be better than Rodgers just because he "looks" better on another team.

    I am shocked!

Agree. The Broncos were a team of destiny. They won quite a few games that they had no business winning this year. Couple that with the Bengals, who were the best AFC team, losing their QB to a freak injury right before the playoffs. Patriots lay an egg in week 17 giving the Broncos HFA...

    I am shocked!

So if we go in "win now" mode and over pay for guys, what years do we give up in exchange? Win a super bowl in the next 3 years? And be mediocre at best for the next 3 or 4 of Rodgers? Or do we could stay the course and go to playoffs likely the next 7 years and hope it works out one year? You...

How much does the loss of Jordy have to do with our struggles?

I believe it's had an impact but not big enough to blame all the offense's dysfunction on. The biggest thing we miss is his ability on the outside to catch the comebackers/back shoulder throws. They are a must in this offense. Adams has failed miserably at that. Next I would say it's been a...

    Official Viking game

The game plan would be wise to revolve around Cobb IMO. Absolutely have to figure out ways to get him open and get the ball. He's by far the most talented player outside of Rodgers. Motion him all over the place. Bunch him up with 2 or 3 other eligible receivers. Run rubs, picks, crossing...

What is going on with Rodgers?

Against man coverage, I would agree. They have to figure out a way to get guys open schematically. I know it goes against the base philosophy of the offense, but they have to use more bunch formations and pick routes and try to create confusion on the defense while eliminating the ability to...

OFFICIAL Mike McCarthy Took Back Play callin

The biggest difference I saw was Dallas was not playing tight man coverage anywhere close to the amount the other teams in the past month or two. We might have seen more zone yesterday than all the other games combined. Regardless, hopefully it boosts the confidence of the offense going forward.

Hypothetical: Which Wildcard Team Should We Hope To Face In Playoffs?

At this point the packers have wrapped up at least a chance of winning the division in week 17 no matter what happens against the raiders and cardinals.

For those that say packers never made adjustments

I think they were very, very limited on defense by the injuries to shields and rollins. On offense I didn't see much adjustment. Rodgers referenced some stuff they wanted to try but never got the chance to.

McCarthy, Clement & Rodgers need to help the receivers succeed

I don't think he says "the receivers need to get open" necessarily from a personal point of view. I think he's talking about the scheme and running plays that will result in guys getting open. Rodgers takes care of the ball. It's one of his greatest attributes. It's one of those things that is...

McCarthy, Clement & Rodgers need to help the receivers succeed

Agree. Our tight man beater scheme is horrible. It has been for a while now you just don't see many teams capable of playing it the whole game. We have no short drag routes out of bunch formations. It's always comebacks, inside outs and quick screens. Sometimes they have a slow tight end short...

    Packers vs Broncos thread

With both teams coming off the bye, this game should be interesting. This is really the only time in the season where the coaches have time to really step back and make large adjustments to their schemes. The big story in Denver is just how bad Peyton has been. Personally, I don't see a ton of...

    Official studs and duds Seattle

Maybe. But who says we can get into FG range if Seattle knows they can't give up FG? Different situation.
