This right here is funny. My uncle is a miller distributer though, so that's what we drink :] The upshot is that I can drink Coors now at family events since the merger!
Everything else aside, the Anthem thing isn't nonsense. Jim Cornelison rules and is a powerful singer. I mean, unless you want some lackluster American Idol reject to sing the anthem.
The backstory on the field is that the Chicago Park District maintains it but they would like to convert the field to Field Turf. The hold up is that the Bears Front Office are concerned with player safety. They feel that grass is safer. With all the players speaking out, this may force the...
I think you guys get more press than the Bears do. I mean, at least coming out of the off season, you guys have been pretty hyped the last few years. Anyhow, sadly, just like us in Chicago, you are in the midwest. Non coastal teams will never get love from the coastal mainstream sports press...
As a Bears fan I am very high on Cutler, but that said, no one I know in Meatspace is confused about Cutler being better than Rodgers right now. Rodgers is the real deal. Cutler at the moment is just good. He isn't knocking on the door of elite status like Rodgers is.
I think Jay will grow...
I am into the NFC love... my basic feeling is if my Bears don't make the playoffs, I would like whoever beats us to do good since it is a reflection of us. When the division winner is one and done it doesn't really speak much for any of us.
Also, I have a lot of family in Milwaukee and...
Hey all - thanks for being cool and not chasing me off.
Just a few short replies:
@KilrB - Yeah, I do think the Bears have a luck element, but at the same time, how long before it isn't just luck? It is random that the ball stays in bounds... but it is less random that we are the ones who come...
Hi all - Bears fan here.. interesting thread, a few thoughts...
1. Most of the discussion here about Urlacher is off base I think - he is almost a complete opposite of a Clay Mathews - he is a sucky blitzer and he is terrible at shedding blocks. What makes Urlacher special is his size and...
@GatorPack - nah man, no voodoo that I know of, but look - When the bears had all three starting Line Backers out due to injury last year - 2 of which we lost within the first 2 or 3 games, was anyone crying about how Un-Lucky the Bears were? Or when Tommie Harris fresh off a huge Contract never...
Bears fan here... no question we are lucky - but it is an institutional sort of luck that can't be discounted - the luck that Lovie Smith drills in the Bears by working tip drills harder than any team in the NFL. There is certainly an X Factor and there always has been, but that comes from...
Hey all - I didn't come to start no trouble... I just came to post a comment about Cutler having good scrambling abilities.
Anyhow, nice forum - you guys have an excellent team and since Rodgers is young, that ain't changing any time soon. Here is to the Packers and hopefully the Bears...
Really? I can roll with everything else in this thread, but which of Cutlers scrambles didn't do it for you last night - the 16 yard first down, or the open field juke he put on your guy on that other long scramble?
There are a lot of things to complain about with Cutler, but his...
