I just read in ESPN magazine--an issue from a month ago--that the Falcons have T.J. Duckett on the trading block. The writer said that Duckett is a casualty of the zone blocking scheme, which does not favor straight-ahead runners, but instead favors runners who can take advantage of quickly shifting holes at the offensive line.

I thought this was interesting, and that it would not seem to bode well for Najeh Davenport. Ahman Green could do well in this offense if he comes back fully healthy, which is a big if. I still think Gado is our best bet, of the guys we have now, but I would not be surprised to see Thompson trade for a shifty runner or pick one up off the waiver wire.

Davenport could be valuable in short yardage situations but they seem to like Green in that spot as well. Green would be awesome in a zone blocking scheme if he was 100% and our O-Line didn't suck.
