Virginia defensive end Zane Parr will not return to the Cavaliers for his final year of eligibility and declare for the NFL draft, the school announced Tuesday. "I have expressed to Zane the benefits of staying at Virginia and pursuing his academic and athletic opportunities for his final season," Coach Mike London said in a statement. "In the end, Zane decided declaring for the draft and withdrawing from school to prepare for it is the course of action he wants to pursue. I wish him the best and appreciate his contributions to the program." Parr played in all 12 games and started 10 in 2010. He finished the season with 48 tackles, 8 tackles for a loss and 2 sacks. - Matt Bonesteel, The Washington Post

Parr's move to the NFL is a surprise considering he is our 38th best DE on our junior board. He will be surprised when he is not drafted unless he puts up amazing numbers in his workouts. He has size to play DE in the 4-3 (6-6, 275) but lacks great speed (4.95e). He would have to gain about 20 lbs to be a true 3-4 DE. He is a training camp prospect at best because on the average only 20 DEs are selected and only 46 make it as an undrafted FA to an NFL camp.
