With that OLine, I don't think that they need a running back. I have no clue as to what MINN did for their defense, but I am definately concerned that their running game will be good.

I don't mean to, I dunno, praise a rival, but their line was already ok, they picked up an elite LG in Hutchinson, got a quality blocking FB in Richardson, and picked up a pretty decent HB in Taylor.

Now that is some quality smack RP!

mineral, the problem is that I don't give a damn about our pre-season record, BUT the fact that our O-line play was a very poor standard. I didn't expect that with Jags in charge, and now I am worried. Worried that ultimately by the time this line is to an adequate standard, the season will be a throw away.

    4packgirl you are absolutely correct.
You can have fun with "smack", bu that went way beyond any moral boundry.

That's what I've been trying to tell you all along. I started the "Zone Blocking" thread and it was poorly received... I guess you all thought that you could install that scheme with those players successfully right away. At least, that's the general feeling I got from that thread. But now that you see it in action, I'm glad it's raised some concerns. The man-blocking scheme in Detroit made our offensive line terrible last year trying to install a power running game with Jones. Now our zone-blocking did surprisingly well against Denver in the preseason opener vs the Broncos, but I still think that even with Verba, Backus, Woody, and Tucker (all veterans) we won't begin to reap the benefits until at least 1/4 way through the season.
With your relative inexperience (this is truth, not smack) at o-line, I just don't see the o-line clicking this year. And really, if I were a packer fan, I'd be feeling the same.
You guys are riding a dead horse... Yeah, again, I give you all the credit in the world for crushing one of the most powerful core of backs and receivers (Sanders, Moore, Perriman, Morton) ever to play on the same team. But back then Favre had a stellar line and guys like Schroeder and Beebe looked like pro-bowlers; your defense wasn't great, but was very good, anchored on the pass rush of Reggie White. I know a good team when I see one; and as much as I'd like to dismiss you guys as a fluke SB winning team, that's just not the case.
But fast-forward to 2006, and you guys are in serious trouble. If Favre has pressure in his face constantly, he makes bad decisions. And if your line can't block the likes of Shaun Rogers, James Hall, Sean Cody, and intense zone-blitzing, you're just not going to make it this year in the NFCN. So you guys need those rookie linemen to step up big. I hope your coach can turn them into those players; but if I were a Packers fan, I'd remain cautiously optimistic.

 Raiders fans know alot about birth defects because 9 out of 10 of them beat their wives during pregnancy, especially if there is a Raiders game on T.V.

Ooh, that is something I never would condone. However, great use of satire. :)

Nope, the tune remains the same. Packers will lose two the Vikes, two to Da Bears, and one to the Lions.

Sidenote: You run a pretty good site.
If you mention this to any other Viking Fans, I shall have to wish you an afterlife of perpetual wearing Purple/Gold, and eating Lutefisk forever!

And Mr.Pickles was wrong with Mr.Pickles analysis?

We must thank the mighty Packers for proving Mr.Pickles correct...

    YET AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Oh, sure,(snicker, snicker), its the pre-season,(snicker,snicker), the games don't count,(snicker, snicker), or mean anything!!!

This may just be, the longest season in Packer history.

    Embarrassing!!!

    Tee-Hee!!!

Mr.Pickles tip of the day #208:

The Packers are the worst team in the NFL, by Favre, er by far!!!
