I'm very excited and more than ready for this season. Nothing excites me more than the leaves falling and the cool evenings and nights. But what really got me going were the pictures from the trail cam...

Are those REALLY from your trail cam???If so, i'm SO jealous!!!
You must have your own land to hunt on. I haven't bow hunted in years, but i gun hunt.
I still have my crossbow and permit (i had a right shoulder injury) but haven't gone in a long time.
What unit are you in scharles?

I used to bow hunt to when living in WI, it was nice going into the woods to sit, so peaceful. I loved it.

Haha, yea they are really from my cam. My dad owns about 48 acres of land that we bow hunt on and then we lease 120 acres of land that we rifle hunt on. Both are in unit 59C.

So true, nothing really like it. There is more to hunting than just harvesting an animal, it is really an amazing experience.

Nice pics Scharles. I always enjoy putting out bear baits. I can sit up in the stand and watch them for hours.

Then you obviously don't know ish. I've seen them in person. And why would someone waste their time to do that. I don't hunt, but it seems to me he knows what he's talking about.

You can tell it is photoshopped. Very obvious. Why he did it, I don't know. You'd have to ask him (if you could get him to admit it). But I am certain.

Re: Wisconsin Bow Season opens Saturday

Dude, what are you talking about? May I ask why you think it is photoshopped? I can guarantee it is not. And I showed YERCELL the pictures. There would also be no reason for me to photoshop a picture. Yea yea yea, i wanna make it look like I have big bucks on my land to talk smack on a Packer forum, yea yea yea. I don't think so buddy.... But please, you photoshop experts, tell me how these look photoshopped...

Re: Wisconsin Bow Season opens Saturday

The lighting, the edges of the deer compared to the background. It just looks totally fake. I'm not going to argue it anymore because I really don't give a **** about some rednecks and their deer, I was just pointing it out.

Re: Wisconsin Bow Season opens Saturday

The lighting around the antlers is from something called Velvet. Light hitting of little hairs on the deers developing antlers. And buddy don't call me a redneck cause I hunt either. You were just pointing something out that prooves you have no idea wtf you are talking about. How about you think before you post, try it, it might give you more credibility.

I wasn't talking about lighting on the antlers. I'm talking about the deer itself.

Re: Wisconsin Bow Season opens Saturday

This thread was meant to talk about hunting, wanting to see who on this forum hunts. I posted pictures of deer on my land, that got me excited for this weekend. The deer are real, pictures have not been photoshopped. I am an avid hunter who practices quality deer management which is why I have pictures of deer like this on my land. Hunting is an amazing experience, especially bow because you get to see the deer in their natural environment, and there is nothing like it. Don't judge and criticise unless you've been there. Nothing excites me more than hunting season, Football season is close though...

Re: Wisconsin Bow Season opens Saturday

Don't let this guy bother you scharles. It's funny, someone comes onto a hunting thread, and calls us "rednecks." I guess it's because we choose to go out in the woods and try to harvest food for ourselves, instead of just letting the grocery store or McDonald's do the "dirty work" for us.
I got a nub buck last year on Sunday of opeing weekend, and i'll tell you what. The meat from that deer was SOOO good! The steaks were tender enough to cut with a fork! I made the hamburger into jerky, and it's was GREAT!
And like you said, it's NOT just harvesting an animal. I have had more sesons NOT getting a deer then ones where i have got one. 2004 i spent 40 hours in the woods and never got a shot. Thats why it's called "hunting" and not "shooting!"

Thats the truth Cheesey and YERCELL, nothing beats venison. The best is fresh venison tenderloin, that had yet to be frozen. Nothing beats it.

Re: Wisconsin Bow Season opens Saturday

I would Yercell, but it's all GONE! It didn't last around here real long!
The last thing i made was a venison roast, back at the end of spring. I slow cooked it for 12 hours, with carrots and potatoes......man, it was GOOD!

And Scharles........tenderloin!!! The bad part with venison tenderloin is.....it's not very big, so it goes fast! Thats also the FIRST thing i cook up! I and my wife like it rare!
