yeah, the Ravens game was good game planning AND execution...kind of shows you if the coaches could do that every week, how good the Pack would be with Favre at the helm..i knew you would mention it....(how many years ago was that again?)

well, talk to me at the end of the season...when Sherman's hitchin' a ride out of town...just ahead of the angry villagers with pitchforks....who came for the *** forkin' party...

i'm through with this post..

Patriots and 49ers in '02, Bucs and Queens (away from Lambeau) in '03, Lions and Rams in '04 are just six games I can think of off the top of my head where MS outcoached the opposing coach.

I'm sure you're through. When it comes to Mike Sherman's coaching ability, your opinions have been weighed, measured and found wanting.

ph...I don't think you'll hear too many arguments about the GM position. Personally, I think he did a servicable job at GM, and many of his mistakes were ones that we can criticize only in hindsight (Joe J., Glenn, Nickerson, etc.). Just a bit too much for any one person to chew, but I too am excited to see what he can do just as head coach.

Glenn as in Terry Glenn the receiver who snagged 56 receptions for 817 yards with an average of 14.6 per reception and a longest of 49 with 2 touchdowns?

A failure if we gave up a 1st round draft choice for him.

OK, failure isn't quite right, and I also don't mean to imply that I fault Sherman for that move...I'm just saying it didn't turn out as planned. The Packers were hoping he'd be a quick fix solution for a lack of a #1 wr, and he wound up doing OK, and was very fragile.

success should not be measured on whenever a team can get to the super bowl. thats not how i measure success anyhow. as long as there is a winning record, thats ok. we all can live with that.

Pack66....our blind loyalty to Mike Sherman is only surpassed by your blind loyalty to Brett Favre.

It's amazing how someone who calls themselves a Packer fan can stand by Mike Sherman against Brett Favre.

Brett Favre has led the Packers to 2 Super Bowls while Johnny-Come-Lately Mike Sherman couldn't even tweak the very talented roster that he inherited in 2000.

You don't even realize that when the Packers hired the inexperienced and incompetent Mike Sherman instead of hiring a qualified HC, the Packers have traded Super Bowls for winning seasons with quick exits from the playoffs.

Under Sherman Packers have been inferior to the best teams in the NFL and have lost 2 playoff games @ Lambeau.

6 wasted years for Brett Favre and the entire Packer organization.

Chase...why not paste and copy my whole quote idiot. You know what my point is. I'm a bigger Favre fan than you will ever realize. Read the whole thread and then go wipe yourself.

Bill Belichick inherited a 3-13 team in an organization that was not committed to winning at that time and there is a HUGE difference between inheriting Brett Favre/Ahman Green and inheriting Bernie Kosar/Kevin Mack.

These threads have caused some lively debates. You would think Mike Tice is brillant compared to Mike Sherman. Is it possible people want a "coach" who comes across more lively on television?
