I really hope this thread does not get deleted before mid-season of the upcoming season.

Again, zone-blocking takes a while to grasp for all teams. Is it a safe bet that this rag-tag group will pick up on it any faster than any other team?
Of course not. At a minimum, the line could click by mid-season. It's not going to be as immediate as you think. It never is - not even with the famed zone-blocking lines of Dever and Seattle.

The only way it will be deleted is if your team falters. Then I'm sure your mods will clear this up to prevent any neccessary explanations for why you so fondly believe that this season will be anything but horrible.

    Look, here's where I think I'm misunderstood:

I'm not saying that you guys won't do better than last year. But how much better? Good enough to have an 8-8 record? No.
Good enough so that Favre doesn't have 29 ints? Yes. But outside of Green Bay, Favre has lately been known for forcing plays and causing turnovers. Last year, he was exposed and the Packers were exposed.
Looking through your offseason acquisitions, there's no reason to believe that the Packers will be much better. A little better? Yes.
    8-8? No.
Not while you've got a guy who forces the ball like he did on most of the interceptions that I saw him throw. You guys lose 13-3 to the Lions with your so-called "valuable" personnel. This tells me that the Packers' problems go deeper than just Favre or just a running back or just WRs. It's your line. And it can't protect Favre. And Favre can't force plays again like he did last year. Most of the ints I saw were just plain bad throws. If you expect to improve, Favre either has to stop trying to win it all or all of your WRs will have to step up. And frankly, I don't think they have the talent to step up.

why don't you think we can win 8 games, our team is clearly better and look at our schedule:

Sun., Sept. 10 Chicago Bears 3:15 p.m. FOX
Sun., Sept. 17 New Orleans Saints (Gold Pkg.) 12 noon FOX
Sun., Sept. 24 @ Detroit Lions 12 noon FOX
    Mon., Oct. 2 @ Philadelphia Eagles 7:30 p.m. ESPN
Sun., Oct. 8 St. Louis Rams 12 noon FOX
    Sun., Oct. 15 Open Date
Sun., Oct. 22 @ Miami Dolphins 12 noon FOX
Sun., Oct. 29 Arizona Cardinals 12 noon FOX
Sun., Nov. 5 @ Buffalo Bills 12 noon FOX
Sun., Nov. 12 @ Minnesota Vikings *12 noon FOX
Sun., Nov. 19 New England Patriots (Gold Pkg.) *12 noon CBS
    Mon., Nov. 27 @ Seattle Seahawks 7:30 p.m. ESPN
Sun., Dec. 3 New York Jets *12 noon CBS
    Sun., Dec. 10 @ San Francisco 49ers *3:05 p.m. FOX
Sun., Dec. 17 Detroit Lions *12 noon FOX
Thurs., Dec. 21 Minnesota Vikings 7:00 p.m. NFLN
Sun., Dec. 31 @ Chicago Bears *12 noon FOX

We can beat the Bills, saints 49ers jets for sure thats 4 wins
I say we split Detoit and Minny and get swept by CHicago which may very likely not happen we have 6 wins.
Other than that i think we can beat 2 out of the four following teams: Philly, Rams, Arizona, Seahawks, FIns. Thats 8 wins there giving the benifit of the doubt to the opponents.

On a side note i would like to announce this is my 500th post. w00t

I wouldn't count on the 4 wins for sure...Those 4 teams think that they have improved just like the Packers think...
Otherwise, I think that 8 wins for the Smackers is not out of reach. Is that good enough for the NFC North? Hopefully not but who knows???

    Congrats on #500.

    Here's your schedule.
Now let's get down to it.
You play each of your division rivals twice. Following recent history (as opposed to ten years ago), the Bears should win both games again. I see the Lions winning both against you and I see you splitting with Minnesota.
    1 win out of 6.

The Saints have Reggie Bush, Drew Brees, and Joe Horn.
    Saints win.

The Eagles aren't great, but they have a good defense. On the other side, it's McNabb and Westbrook. Philly is also a tough place to play.
    Eagles win.

The Rams have Bulger, Bruce, an aging Faulk, Torry Holt, and a very good O-Line.
    Rams win.

    The Miami Dolphins are terrible.
    Packers win.

The Arizona Cardinals have Kurt Warner... aging like Brett but doesn't turn the ball over as much. Boldin is good, but I think the Pack could win this one if there aren't any key injuries.
Packers win - not by much though.

    Buffalo Bills - garbage.
    Packers win.

Patriots have won 3 superbowls in the past few years and Tom Brady is a hell of a QB with quite a few years left in him. Corey Dillon is still very solid and so is their line.
    Patriots win.

    Seahawks - NFC Champs.
    Seahawks win.

    NY Jets.
    Packers win.

    49ers who?
    Pack wins.

so... realistically it's 6 games at the most, IMHO. Now there's definitely a reason why they play games and people don't just have predictions to see who wins the games. Of course.
But I'm just laying out my predictions how I see them. And that's how I see them.

    IMHO? Seriously, wtf!

In MY Honest Opinion? Why would you give us a dishonest opinion? Isn't it implied that your opinion is that of honesty?

This is not a slight on just YOU, its everyone who uses 'IMHO'.

    Okay, I think too much.

Interesting post, even Mr.Pickles agrees on somethings....SOME THINGS!

Arizona beats Green Bay, the Packers do not match up with the Cards recievers, plus James at tailback will help them. And Dennis Green knows the Packers.

Miami beats Green Bay as well. Mr.Pickles finds Miami talented on both sides of the ball, much more so than the Pack.

I can see those 2 as being losses as well. If the Pack wins either of those two it will be close, though. I threw the Pack a bone.

LOLOLOL!!!! Thats about as weak an argument as you can have! If thats, so, then the Bears should just quit the league now! They had ONE.......count it, ONE decent season. And what did they do in the playoffs? One and done. They might as well fire the whole team, right? That is if what you say holds any water. (Your argument holds as much water as a cup made out of swiss cheese!) And what have the other teams in the North division done? How many Lombardi trophies do the rest of the division have? I know the Bears have ONE, the Packers have THREE.......so that makes FOUR for the division, total.
Guess the Lions and Vikings should just quit too, hey?
WEAK argument and logic as i see it.
Favre on his worst day is still better then the last 20 Bears QB's.

Shhh the Bears had one good season so that means they will do good this year. But since the Packers had one bad season, really bad season that means they are going to do bad this year too. Forget that for years the Packers were good and the Bears were bad! That's the Bears main argument.

Get Over It! Navy blue wah wah who who...
