Why doesn't Favre retire already?

I've covered some of these points in Mr.Pickles' thread, but I think it got lost in some of your mindless banter.
This is a thread for talking about how Brett should retire. Now, I'm not flaming you, so I expect the same treatment in return. Fair enough?

    OK...
Reason #1 that Favre should retire:
It appears he's lost interest in the game, for one.
He flip-flops with the media about his retirement, doesn't show up for practice, and he's coming into a new system.

Reason #2 that Favre should retire:
    Last season. Enough said.

Reason #3 that Favre should retire:
In the offseason, the Packers did the very least they could do to improve the offensive line and his targets. Brett Favre is not invincible. He WILL miss a game this year. If he sets his pace to throw another 26 interceptions, I guess he won't have to worry about getting hurt. 4-12 is not acceptable and if you're 2-6 or so, and Favre is still throwing moonballs and isn't benched, you will need another head coach.

Reason #4 that Favre should retire:
Reason #4 is actually a reason that he should've retired immediately following last season. Yeah, he should've retired already.
He's not going to be able to travel back in time to 1996, steal himself, and put himself into this season. So, if he just would've retired last year, the Packers could've focused a little bit more on the future of the QB position. Instead, they're pussyfooting around and waiting until they find out that Aaron Rodgers isn't merely 75% crappy, he's 100% crappy.

You wasted numerous minutes you could have spent trying to get out of your parents basement, asking a question that you answered in the end?

Quite Ironic but nonetheless ignorant. I mean if you think A-Rod sucks why SHOULD Brett retire?

    You, my friend, are moronic!

I'm a little worried that almost everything tonight is making me giggle...

McCarthy told him he didn’t need to come to a few because he wanted to work out younger players. But McCarthy didn’t tell the media. So when Favre went to Branson, Mo., with his wife and 6-year-old daughter, a big deal was made of his missing a practice.

Of COURSE he wants Favre to retire! If Favre was so bad, HE would want him to stick around, so that his team would have a chance!

That's in the past, Z2C. Nobody is trying to take away his HoF status or his MVP trophies.
But he's gone and he's not coming back to win another MVP or anything else tangible. His time has come and gone, and it was great for the city and your team. But it's over.

How does that cause him to throw 26 interceptions? Did the receivers throw the ball to themselves?
What about the offensive line? Can they protect him this year? Like I said, good zone-blocking isn't taught in a few months. It takes at least half a season for the players to grasp. To say otherwise is unrealistic.

no one sai he was coming back to win another MVP he's coming back becasue he wants to and he is still an above average level staring QB in the league. EPSN the experts rated the PAckers at 15 in there ultimate depth char and i'm pretty sure its not cuz A-rod... Obviously Brett shouldn't have retired

Do us both a favor and check out how accurate ESPN was on last year's Packer prediction.

maybe because since the rest of the team was hurt he was trying to force a few plays to make up for it. AND there were a good number of picks due to the wrong route run by the WR or that weren't Brets' fault (I would guess at least 5)
