    Just curious..

I had a little friendly talk with someone about this tonight...

I know we have unbiased Viking fans here..So speak your mind!!

Who has the most double standards when it comes to our teams and or players

It all depends on what you consider double standards. What some would call DS I can see it as just being a fan of your team. FWIW, I rarely hear Viking fans on Viking boards talking about Packer players. Just does not happen that often. Packer fans seem to be more obsessed with the Vikings than any other team. Not just on this board but most Packer boards. Just something I have observed over the years.

I think its all the way around to some degree. Some worse than others. Most of us were favre fans at one point, is that a double standard to dislike him now? not sure. Is it a double standard for Favre fans to hate the team they cheered for before everything? maybe, not sure though.

I think Bretts forum digs their head in the sand on so many things its disgusting. I wish they kept old threads.

While I get the way they want that board to run, it is little odd they wont allow to much glory for Rodgers..Yeah it is a Brett forum, but if there is a Packer section, why cant people be proud of Rodgers w/o feeling threatened..

One guy now is leaving just because he cant express love for Rodgers, even tho he has clearly expressed his love for Brett

We may really put the screws to Brett now.

But most here love Brett for what he accomplished for the Packers..Just dont like how it ended..

But people always seem to forget that, and only concentrate on how we feel towards him now.

    I voted for Brett's.
Write one bad thing about the guy, a few good things about the Packers and you are banned. When they pick up that you don't like Brent, but are still a Packers fan, there's the door buddy.
Not like a warning banned for a short time. Banned for good.
Here, you write anything bad about the Pack, moved to Smack.
That's what makes this forum better.
An area for rival fans to dish it out as well as us.

I voted for Brett's forum because the title of the thread said the "biggest" and they fit the mold. We as die-hard fans are all biased to some degree and we all have our share of double standards but I've never seen anything that compares to what goes on in that forum. It brings it to a whole new level.

You ever been on the Bears MB? Everything that can be wrong is a Packer. Nothing the Bears do is ever WRONG. And when you blow them away with plain logic, the standard answer is "What are YOU doing on OUR message board.

This even though they have a section called "Rival Central".

ESPN is the last place I would discuss football at just for the fact reading all the comments on blogs it sounds like a bunch if kids that cannot spell to save their lives, and then they believe in all the hype that they put into overrated players like Kolb.

This is by far the best forum I have discussed football on, just for the fact the people are not up tight stereo types when it comes to agreeing and disagreeing.

    Jay Cutler is god

The refs rigged the NFC Championship

    The Packers were OVERRATED

Yeah I heard that before on there!

My favorite is Cutler would be better than Rogers if he had the same receivers.

Better as a QB, maybe, better than Rodgers.....MAKE ME LAUGH!

Cutler has exactly ONE playoff win, and that was against a team that was 7-9. And they only got to that game because of the defense.

Still trying to figure out how a 6th seed that goes all the way to the Superbowl and wins is overrated.

And EVERY game the Packers win is because the refs gave it to them. Even when they totally humiliated the Falcons at home one of them was claiming the refs completely forgot that you are supposed to throw a flag on holding. Even though I have never heard a single Falcons fan complain about the refs in that game.

Well that's kinda hard to avoid since the Vikings love signing our sloppy seconds.

I am still a Favre fan. I hate what he did.He killed his legacy and basically pissed on the throngs of Packer fans who worshiped him, just to get back at Ted. But as a player I don't think we will see his kind again. How many QB's you see run down the field to block a big linebacker, or pick up a receiver on his shoulders. He loved playing and I loved watching the joy and enthusiasm he had for the game.

I think you see flip flopping on all the sites. Go back and read some of the threads from 2008. Ted and Mike were being vilified.

Because they know it would be pointless since we would tear any of their arguments to shreds.

It also probably follows the logic that:
Heck, you can't even just look at any messages unless you sign up first.
I dunno what they are so afraid of.
That I'm going to post one of their ball licking msgs. on the front page of the NY Times?
They talk big about the guy they think is better than sliced bread but only amongst themselves.
    Which is fine with me.

You should meet a friend of mine that has been in the military and only started liking Minnesota cause of the Number 4. I took sooooooo much crap from him for not selling out and becoming a Viqueen fan since he knows I started liking GB as a young kid because of Brett.

Glad I never went to his forums.
I don't hate the guy, nor do I hate people for hating him. None of that bothers me, but I don't see how all his fans can defend him. My folks down here only liked the Packers because of him 10, 15 years ago, and even they will tell you that he did us wrong going to Minnesota. They tell me we won the Super Bowl as karma for him having to make us suffer one season of nearly going to the Super Bowl and the forced pain of seeing him in a Vikings uniform period. Which surprising enough, they sold his Packer stuff around the gulf for so many years, but they didn't sell his Vikings jerseys down here lol
