For me 2, of them.

In 2002, I took my then 16 year old son up to Lambeau to watch the Packers practice. If you never had a chance to do this, you are missing a really great time! Anyway, between the morning and afternoon practice, we made our way over to "Fuzzy's 63's."

We walk in the door, and who is perched right at the end of the bar was "one of the two best guards in football", Fuzzy Thurston himself. Besides being almost in awe of the man, the place itself is really cool, with tons of pictures and memorabilia. The food was great too. Fuzzy was more than happy to pose for a picture with my son and me, ( I had on my #5 jersey, Fuzzy got a HUGE kick out of that...) and that picture is framed in my den. What a truly wonderful guy!

I'll wait for others to post, and then I'll tell you about the other Packer I met...and did not even know it until 6 months later...and had to be told by a Bear fan...that's another story!

Me and my dad went to a game a couple years back. The next day, we were killing time until we had to go to the airport to catch our plane. So we decided to go around Lambeau, and we saw about ten people waiting outside the players parking lot. So i decided to go get a mini helmet and a sharpie to get some autographs and i got a couple good ones. Charles Woodson and Aaron Kampman. Then, Greg Jennings came walking out and I talked to him for a little bit and I got to take a picture with him.

Ok, now my second story.

My future brother in law was getting married in August of 1996. Some of his friends decide to throw him a stag party. So at the best man's house there is...eh...entertainment. Yes, even in good old Iowa we could get girls who would come in and remove their clothing and basically strut around and do shows for a bunch of 20 , 30 and 40 something guys. So these two, uh, ladies show up with this gorilla for an escort. This guy was HUGE!! He was about 6 foot 13, had a LOT of hair under his arms, and was wearing a tight t shirt, but he was really a cool guy. He let us know that he was there to insure the safety of the girls, and as long as we all behaved, we would all have a LOT of fun. Well, we were all gentlemen, the girls made a LOT of money, and by the end of the night the big guy was quaffing suds with us...

Ok...fast forward to April of 1997, draft day. The phone rings, and the new groom, ( my brother in law, the Bear fan) , said to me, "Did youu hear who the Packers drafted?" "Yea," I said, "a lineman from Iowa..." " Yea," he said, "they drafted Ross Verba". And then there was silence.

"So?" says me
"You met him...." says he
"When???" says me
"At my stag party...he was the gorilla"

"HOLY ****!!! That guy is going to play for the PACKERS???"

I guess everyone needs a summer job, huh?

Great story! Who'd know that Verba did a gig as a bodyguard!

Well, it is fitting... The question is, if he'd been paid the same, who's butt would he prefered to protect?? Favre's or those ladies'???

BTW, I haven't met none, sadly...

Last year traveling back from vacationing up north, we drove through Green Bay and decided to stop and show the boys the greatest stadium in the country. This was the friday before the Packer Hall of Fame inductions. After the stadium tour and pro shop, we took the boys upstairs to the arcade. Other than myself, wife and 2 boys, the only other group was a family of 5 or 6. After walking by one of them, I noticed a huge gold ring with a ton of diamonds on it. I walked by, looked up and there stood Antonio Freeman with his daughters, mom and dad (I assume). I mentioned to the wife that was Free and asked my boy if he wanted to meet one of the great Packer receivers. He was too shy, so we took my 8 month over and asked Free for a picture with him. He was real polite, as was his daughter. The boy drooled on his shoulder and tugged his ear, great guy. I had it autographed a couple of weeks ago @ fanfest, can't wait to tell the boy he meet one of the greatest Packer of my generation.

I think it was Darren Sharpers rookie year, a Sunday night game vs the Lions..Out of the blue one of my brothers got tickets...So my two brothers a niece and my dad drive up...We get our seats and right before the game starts woh sits right in front of me..

Ray freaking Nitschke!!!!

He pulls out a big ole cigar and starts puffin on it..Well this was the time of no smoking in the stadium seating...My one brother says tell him to put it out, I was like FU!!! you tell him

At one point during the game my knees went into his back as I was getting crazy over a play, and I could say sorry enough, he gave a nasty look and said he was going to rip my head off, then slapped my legs and said just joking!! He get as wild as you want

We didnt bug him to much just like you would with anyone else sitting in front of you..At half time he got up with the person he acme with, shook our hands and said it was getting cold so he was going in box seats

that was it

I got home and told all my friends and they were pretty impressed. Month later he was charged ****. So i'd like to thank him for making me the but end of several jokes for having a picture with a ******. lol

At this point I'm just hoping I can go to a Packers home game some day.
Living in CT and being only 20 makes that kinda hard.
Hopefully in a few years I can see one of their home games.

I know he hasnt been a packer for over 10 or so years...but in 2002? i believe. Reggie White came to Des Moines to speak at a church. Didnt personally get to meet him but on his way out after saying a prayer he shook almost everybody's hand. To me then, a 12 year old.... i was blown away at the size of his hands i mean wow... but anyways. Rest In Peace Reggie, you'll never be forgotten :icon_sad:

I have never met starr or favre. But most others I have at some point. Jim Taylor, Willie Davis, Paul Hornung, ect.
1996 era, pretty much everyone cept favre. I couldnt stand Chewy.
2000s era, Driver about 10 times, jennings, tauscher, collins, most of the younger guys, mathews, ect. Rodgers was the back up QB when I met him when he was out drinking in a town in western wisconsin but he came across as nice.

Clay didnt seem very bright but I didnt talk to him that long.

Outside of the packers I have met reggie bush (*****) ron dayne (quiet). I hung out with Chris Paul (nba) and his family for a few hours in vegas a couple years back. Great kid, great parents.

When we lived in GB my hubby and I used to go to Fuzzy's Shenanigan's on Riverside Drive and Fuzzy would come in and visit with us often. Years ago when I was single I used to see Greg Koch and some of his teammates out on the town. Greg was always cordial and bought me a drink a couple of times.

I met Bart Starr when I was a little kid at an autograph signing when he was pushing his board game. I was like 7 and too young and dumb to know who he REALLY was...I just thought he was the 'former coach who couldn't win'.

I lived in Phoenix in 2002 for about ten months. I worked with my brother at a title company. He told me he had a surprise for me. Right behind the title was a three store mini mart. One being Samarui Sam's. Well one day during our lunch break we went to get something to eat from there. Right at the counter was Robert Brooks. It was so cool for me. I just stood there smiling. I talked to him for about five minutes. My brother's friend who also worked there would not believe he played in the NFL so we had to show him the dreadful video of Brooks getting injured as proof.

In 2003 got a couple of autos from a few players when the Packers played the Texans here. I can't remember who exactly. I met Suzy Kolber that night as well.

In 2007 I flew up to Green Bay for the Lions game. I had a lengthy conversation with Jason Hunter from outside the parking lot. Snow was coming down pretty hard.

The other day, my Mom, who works at Rawhide Boys Ranch (Don't know what it is? Google), was answering phones when Bart Starr called to talk to someone.
