Miami is the favorite and seem to be obsessed. Peyton has a house there. Wayne might join him.

Jets are becoming a big dark horse. Peyton has a bond with Rex if you can believe it or not. They are both obsessed with football.

    Cardinals also want him badly.

Seahawks may jump in word is.

I don't even want to talk about the Skins. They have money but I cannot imagine a Manning Bowl twice a year, for years.

I doubt Harbaugh turns his back on Smith even though SF is the best case scenario for a title.

Um.....I even heard a source said Denver asked about Peyton. Um no. Just no. Not even Peyton can compete with Tebow-mania.

I hope so Dan. Just heard some things that made me say Jets.

Makes more sense for the Dolphins. I think they have a solid foundation there. They can run the ball, protect Manning and I can see Wayne going there easily. Peyton has a house there. Decent D.

If he goes to the Jets oh man.......

Seattle is one I am interested in too. Underrated team.

Chiefs not a bad idea either. Like the Dolphins they have pieces and an experienced coach who has gone head to head with Peyton MANY times over the years.

I honestly don't want Peyton in either "east" though. Eli is in one and Brady in the other.

Of course I am rooting for the Colts and Packers vs. Peyton no matter where he goes.

This makes the off season interesting. I need a Packer fix! Is it 5 Sept yet?

If they have any sence the 49ers will go for Manning, even though i very much doubt it that they will. A half fit Manning is way better than a fully fit Alex Smith.

I don't see the personalities of Jim Harbaugh and Peyton meshing. I also am not sure I see Harbaugh turning his back on Smith and wanting to bring in a star as big as Manning. In a way though I kinda love how the Niners are already, maybe just add some receiver help for Smith.

Marshall Faulk said Peyton won't go to the NFC. Not sure if he knows this for a fact but I guess it's the Eli thing if true.

Peyton already met with the Dolphins owner tonight rumor is. Lebron and D Wade have already reached out to him. Riley has offered Peyton court side seats for Heat games.

I know this does hurt Peyton deeply. He loves Indy very much. I do think it would ease the pain for him though if he can get Wayne to wherever he goes.

I have no idea about personalities meshing, all i can say is the guy is a winner and worth taking a punt on for them. But i agree i think that the reason the Niners wont take a chance on Manning is that Harbaugh has decided to keep Smith. And see if he can take him and imporve him, but Smith has been there for long enough and has found it very tough up untill last season.

I know hes had plenty of offensive coaches and no stability, but if he was that good he would have broken through an made his mark before anyway.

Either way the Niners are work in progress, and Coach Harbaugh has been doing a great job there. It will be intersting how things go for them with a few additions.

Bears, they have been cutting everyone just to take him. Its the NFL's most covered secret. Manning wants to be the first QB to win the Super bowl of a team he beat in the Superbowl.

I just heard on the radio that Peyton might have a team early in the week. And he has meetings set up with THREE teams.

Denver today/tonight. Miami and Arizona the other two days this weekend.

OMG At Denver. I guess this is the suprise team that has been after him I did not see coming. I wonder what they would do with Tebow since I am not convinced Peyton would be comfortable with a backup as popular as Tebow. I also heard a Broncos fan call up the radio and say if they got Peyton then it has to be SB or bust considering how far they went with Tebow this season.

Personally I think Denver's D is overrated as hell and was lucky this year.

Chiefs seem like a good fit to me but maybe he shunned them. They said the Chiefs are the first team to offer him a contract.

No Jets? I guess he really does not want to battle Eli in the same market/division after all.

So folks looks like Miami/Denver or Arizona.

only a few teams does he actually benefit. Check out his QB rating the past few years, with the exception of 1 year it has been declining since 2005. Add to that he sat out a season, is hurt, will be in a new offense, and maybe outdoors makes it not a favorable sign for many teams. And while some might say the 49ers, I dont think he is much of an upgrade at this point from alex smith. I'll take Alex's 5 ints to Peyton's 20.

And the big question is, where does it leave your franchise? You are signing a 36 yr old QB, not a 26 yr old QB. Are you making progress towards the future of the franchise? Or setting it back years by signing this years McNabb?

Very true. For Miami thought I think getting fans in seats is really the big issue here too.

I personally do not think Peyton is a ticket to a SB. The teams mentioned might not even be good enough for a title. KC might have the best shot.

The Niners won't sign him. I love what they currently have too going on.

Peyton like you said HAS been declining. In 2009 he started to even throw more picks even though we got to the SB. We won MANY MANY close games we could have easily lost.

In 2010 he was a mess at times IMO.

At this point and time the team will have to bend to his style

Who else has this skewed biased opinion?

This guy doesnt know how Brett would do anywhere, as there is no evidence other then his opinion..While with the Jets, he was doing GREAT, but when it came time to separate, he faltered, or at very least, didnt want to admit he was hurting the team because his arm was hurt..

So to compare Peyton to Brett is ignorant as there isn't any supporting evidence, other than his/her biased opinion....

13 tds , 13 ints and a 70.1 rating for Ponder is FINE???

but this is typical of OBF posters...According to SOME on Bretts forum, Rodgers was horrible his 1st starting year, but now some claim Ponder is fine and Peyton would screw up the Vikings for years??

I think Manning going to the Viks would be a good idea...Ponder gets to learn from a GREAT q/b, Manning plays in a dome 8 games a year, and has one of the best RB in the league behind him...

But it would put Ponder back YEARS lol

    Funny stuff...

Can't see Peyton in KC. Peyton already said he don't like it cold. December games in Arrowhead could be brutal for him. Same thing with the Jets and Broncos. Maybe Seattle if he wants to switch to NFC. But Miami seems to be the best fit.

My point is, never belive the bluff you hear. After saying that Smith was their guy and that they had little interest in Manning, they go and bring him in for a workout and medical. The Niners boards are going Ape over it, quite funny to see.

They did say he was our guy for the future, even at the combine it was said...But that was with knowledge that a contract would be signed..

Now that a deal isn't signed what are they to do?

You go for the next best thing, and that is Manning

You hit the nail on the head with this post. There are not a lot of teams that Manning can benefit at this point. For a team like SF, it would be like taking one step forward and two steps back. Manning would probably last a year, maybe two years at the most and then the team would be looking for a new QB and starting all over again. SF has made tremendous progress in the last season, why the hell would they want to jeopardize that. Manning is a risky gamble with any team right now. I think a lot of these teams who are so interested would do well to take a lesson from the Vikings who have run amuk with this idea. I hope he doesn't go to Miami, I would personally like to see them either stick with who they have and make it work or sign another young QB to develop. Then we get into the question of Manning playing backup for one of these teams. Ego and money are going to play their part well before this ends. I have no problem with Manning, but I'm just looking at this realistically. Of course Manning could shock the hell out of us all and make his last stand in epic fashion, but that is unlikely when you take into consideration the status of the teams Manning is likely to be sent to.
