What do you do?

I'm always curious about the jobs other people have, so I thought I'd ask! I graduated in 2011 from UW-Stevens Point and am now a high school special education teacher in the Milwaukee area. I moved there because I've always wanted to teach in a high needs area, but my first year has been crazy... two students killed themselves (one of them mine), a student of mine was murdered, and a former student was murdered one block from where I live.

But I still love it.

So what do you do?

Retired, Now Full Time Packer Backer.

Control all barn raisings, hand churned butter sales, and looming supplies on the west coast for a secret clandestine organization. Business has been bad so I also am an engineer on the side.

Alot of different stuff, I work in hospitality management, I am a bartender on the weekends, I am a volunteer firefighter, and am always looking to get into new fields. Currently exploring an importing business.

Industrial IT analyst for the Ball Corporation (think the mason jars though they sold the glass business).

Was an industrial electrician in metal working until three years back when I became the electronics guru in a startup machine shop. Later this year I will transfer back and run the electrical department in a gray iron foundry when this division is closed.

Surprised me by transferring me back now instead of waiting to close my former facility. Sounds like I may soon get to run some of the maintenance crews also. Start next week already.

I am a Network Administrator for a school district. At least for 18 more months when I am free from technology forever.

Going ludddite on us?

Not to that degree, but no more 7x24x365. No more carrying my laptop and cell on vaction in case there is an issue at work. No more 36 hour stints working on down systems. To damn old for this. I will surf and MAYBE do facebook and keep up with the forums but that's it. I was thinking about joining the Amish Mafia.

I hear ya, Brother from a different mother. When I retire, I never want to measure another house EVER AGAIN!!!

I chose a profession where 24X7 doesn't happen. Only one person at work has my personal cell #. He actually used it once when I was at Mt Rushmore for a password. Only time I was ever bothered on a vacation.

Research & Development Technician/Artist for WRS Group(health education/awareness mostly, though we have been getting into more specialty manufacturing the last few years). The best way i can describe what i do is anything you see on Mythbusters, minus the explosions, haha. I sculpt/paint/make molds/deal with electronics & machinery/handle various plastics, rubbers, other chemicals/creating & refining processes/etc.

Project im most proud of would most likely be for NASA. Got to design and produce a rim and locking system to add an additonal hood to an existing mask to be used in case of chemical warfare.

Right now as a college guy, I just pick up whatever I can get. Currently I'm doing clerical work for a law firm in NYC, doing sheet rocking, and delivering pizzas. Come June I have a custodial job that will encompass most of my days.

wow! After some of these posts,..i'm not sure I want to say! lol

Today is the 21st anniversary of my beauty salon,... doesn't seem possible but it is! (I was off a year! lol )

I'm grateful that I'm able to do what I love and make a living doing it!
