Wasn't enough that the Vikings have to go through GB's garbage bin every year to get players. Now they have even started drafting GB fans.

Watching the vike/hawks game last night I found it amusing that the rookie FB Gerhart is a huge Packer fan. Even funnnier was how the annoucer basically went off about how he should forget his cheesehead roots, play good football because he is a viking now and he's gonna get paid lots of money. Kind of like they were embarassed to have a Packer fan playing on the Viking's team and though he might lay down against the Pack. At this point the Vikings should just be considered an expansion team of the Packers.

Those viking announcers are the worst Farvt knob gobblers I've ever heard on national tv. I love how insecure they are that for every dropped ball, they have to spend 5 minutes explaining why it wasn't Bert's fault. Yeah, I could tell the int and some things were not Bert's fault, why do they have to explain in for 5 minutes. Insecure viking fans.

Those viking announcers made me want to throw a shoe at the TV. I've watched a lot of preseason ball from other clubs and the local coverage teams, and the viking's are by far the most insecure and homerish of all of em. Seahawks were horribly homerish, but the viking's surpassed em.

I thought they were going to have to change their shorts after farvt completed the pass to Harvin.

    Murgen-

I'm from Minnesota. I grew up in the northern part of the Twin Cities and lived there nearly my entire life until I enlisted in the Army. My mother was born and raised in Wisconsin, but has lived in the Twin Cities area since the early 70's and it has been that way forever. It is really part of the only bad thing I can say about where I'm from. The fans are terrible, and this includes announcers and even many of the sports-journalists. When I was in junior high and then high school through the mid/late 90's everyone HATED Favre. The dogged him all the time. They were so quick to jump ship not just when he became a Viking, but when he went to the Jets. The same thing could be said for Sharper and Longwell. I've seen home games blacked-out firsthand. There are some die-hards and some good football fans, but the bulk of them are terrible. The only groups of fans that have a better die-hard to fair weather ratio are the Wild fans and the Twins fans. Why do you think they have so much trouble trying to generate public money for a football stadium?

I love the Vikings radio announcers. Paul Allen is unable to describe down and distance, let alone what the hell is going on. But his calls on The Interceptor's throw in last year's Saints game and the Cardinal TD that put the Yikes out of the playoffs a few years ago are priceless, absolutely priceless.

Even the Dallas local media was making fun of the announcers for the Vikings after the lost to the Saints last year. Must have heard Paul Allen's head exploding 30x on Dallas radio. They were implying that Paul Allen is completely unprofessional when interviewing the other guy on the radio. the other dude defended him of course.

After having to listen to him for an entire game (I think it was him)......UGH!! Never again. I'd mute them from now on. Just hard to watch a game with no sound.

Yeah, I understand. I thought the Dallas journalists/broadcasters were homerish, but they have to be considered fair and balanced vs the Viking's crew. Dallas is getting ripped a new one down here by the sports media for their awful play. I can just imagine even if Farve threw 20 picks and the offense played horribly they would have an excuse for it up there in Minnesota.

    Bulaga you mean?

Yeah, but I don't think you'll hear the Packer annoucers going off on how he should forget the bears and since he is getting paid lots of money he better play good ball.

Your right longtimefan, they did go off on how he should have caught the ball behind him in the air. I do remember that.

Buluga's parents are supporting him as a Packer.
They wear the clothes (Hat, shirt whatever.) and they have a Packer banner in their front yard.

Here's what bulaga had to say after being drafted about the Packers/Bears:

Docs Office, Hawkeye Football, Iowa Hawkeyes

Bulaga transcript; will wear No. 75 for Packers

Posted on Apr 23, 2010 by Scott Dochterman.
[IMG]Iowa offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga poses for photographs after he was selected as the 23rd overall pick by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the NFL football draft at Radio City Music Hall on Thursday, April 22, 2010, in New York. (AP Photo/Jason DeCrow)

Here’s what former Iowa offensive lineman Bryan Bulaga had to say during an interview with Green Bay reporters last night following his selection by the Packers:

    Q. You must be very excited to go to the Packers, tremendous tradition. Not even a question.
BRYAN BULAGA: No, it really isn’t. I’m ecstatic to be a Green Bay Packer. I grew up in Illinois and really familiar with the NFC North and familiar with what it’s all about. I’m a cold‑weather guy and it’s going to be good for me to play up there.
The fans are tremendous. The fan base is amazing. I’ve only heard great things about Lambeau Field so I’m ecstatic to be a Green Bay Packer.
    Q. Did you root against the Packers growing up in Illinois?
BRYAN BULAGA: I was more of a college football fan growing up my entire life. Obviously you are rooting for the Bears when they are doing well so obviously I think my allegiance has suddenly changed.
The Bears, no, I was never a fan. Never.

Minnesota is crazy place when it comes to the Vikings. The media, fans, just about everybody will be clamoring to fire the coach or cut a certain player or whatever. Its crazy. I remember as a kid how excited and pumped Vikings fans were when they traded all those draft picks to Dallas for Herschel Walker. Then after he bombed hardcore, everyone was screaming that they knew it was terrible idea the entire time and the entire Viking's staff needed to be fired. It never ends there when it comes to excuses or blame or anything like that. I think that is part of the reason I never could get into the Vikings. My mom and her whole side of the family is from Wisconsin, and they are all die-hard Packer fans, so that probably helped. But I just never felt sorry for the team or the fans for the most part because they are all so nuts.

I lived in Minnesota most of my life, including THAT GAME. That was the greatest moment in sports in my lifetime, other than a Packers big win.

We had fate on our side that year, rallying the 2nd half of the season behind Ahman Green and a great running game. Remember Najeh Davenport had an even better YPC. But we were doomed to miss the playoffs because of Minnesota. The rest of the NFC did not want to see us either. We were on a roll.

So we got in thanks to that miracle. Then we were lucky, again fate on our side, to beat Seattle on the brother Al Int in overtime on Hasselbeck.

Then we had Philly beaten, but 4th & 26, and then in OT the first of Farve's many patented *******'s stopped that magical carpet ride.

But this moment here in Arizona, combined with this one from Paul Allen, are all-time priceless classics.

That clip always brings a smile to my face.

    "Intercepted, I can't believe what I'm seeing"

The amazing thing is Viking fans WANTED him to come back for another year. Crazy fans.

    That clip is so priceless.
I want it to be my screensaver and watch it every day.

I honestly have that game on DVR still saved. I just played that last second Viking drive for my parents on Thursday night before the Colts-Packers game that they came over for.

I don't feel spiteful in the least bit.

Burnt Fail had an awesome season.
In the meantime, us Packers fans who know him all too well were on the edge of our seats, just waiting for that moment because we knew sometime that moment would come.
We know that for Fail it's just too good to be true.
    What a loser.
