What will Brett Favre do? Who will kick for the Packers in 2006?

Here are 10 fearless predictions regarding the Green Bay Packers:

1) Brett Favre will return for the 2006 season.

2) Ted Thompson will sign a "surprise" free agent that will have Packer fans buzzing.

3) The Packers will draft a QB this year, in the later rounds.

4) The Packers will draft either DE Mario Williams or LB A.J. Hawk with their first pick.

5) Paul Edinger will be the Green Bay K in 2006.

6) Javon Walker will be traded.

7) The Packers will have a winning season and make the playoffs in 2006.

8 ) The Packers will win at least 6 games at Lambeau Field in 2006.

9) Favre will have a very solid 2006 season and pass Dan Marino as the all-time TD pass king.

10) Favre will start all 16 games in 2006, running his consecutive start streak to 237 games.

Buzzing, DePack? Thought we were "creaming our jeans".

Hey, IPB...I totally agree about Hawkins. Put on weight/muscle and retains his 4.25 speed and burst. At worst he will be a killer in nickle/dime and maybe challenge for a starting spot.

I like that the kid takes this stuff seriously...he is showing me, and certaintly the team, much to like this off season.

For those who question the Packers' scouting department, look no further than Hawkins, Kampmann, Tony Donald, Samkon Gado, et al.

If he is going to sign a "buzzing" free agent he better get it moving. There are only a few left that fit into that catagory and fewer every day.

Even if they signed Woodson that wouldn't fit "buzz" status. It would be a good pickup and help us but not to a degree that would be that fitting.

1) the longer favre waits, the more likely he's coming back

2)see Charles Woodson--my #1 pick would be Lavar Arrington, but Woodson would look good for us

3)Brett Basanez from Northwestern, they threw the ball often, he should be there in the 5th-6th

4)Mario! Hawk would be sweet too...

5)Edinger sucks

6)Get something for Javon, like a pick, with which we draft Maurice Stovall in the 2nd

7)Our schedule gives us the chance to make a 9-7 or 10-6 record in '06...i think the easier competition and extra year of experience for all the rookies turns the 3 point losses into 3 point wins

8)A winning record at lambeau would satisfy...

9-10) Sure why not...

These are not fearless predictions in the least.

1) Brett Favre will return for the 2006 season.
-- many are predicting this already and most (including Favre) have said the longer he takes the more likely he's returning.

2) Ted Thompson will sign a "surprise" free agent that will have Packer fans buzzing.
-- Packer fans await every FA signing, so this is almost a given that a post-June signing will meet this criteria.

3) The Packers will draft a QB this year, in the later rounds.
-- So... TT could draft any position in the later rounds. From the last draft, one could easily say that TT will look for the best player available for the team.

4) The Packers will draft either DE Mario Williams or LB A.J. Hawk with their first pick.
-- As predicted by 98% of the mock drafts.

5) Paul Edinger will be the Green Bay K in 2006.
-- Not much for other FA kickers left.

6) Javon Walker will be traded.
-- Only likely because this draft is weak at WR and JW's low salary makes a trade easy, along with him wanting it. I still doubt TT will give in to such a demand.

7) The Packers will have a winning season and make the playoffs in 2006.
-- Extremely likely. Prior to last year, GB won the division 3 years in a row. Last season they had a ton of injuries, but still had a good chance to win almost every game at the end. It is very likely they will turn it around in one year.

8 ) The Packers will win at least 6 games at Lambeau Field in 2006.
-- Highly likely if #7 happens.

9) Favre will have a very solid 2006 season and pass Dan Marino as the all-time TD pass king.
-- He doesn't have far to go. An average season for him will meet this criteria.

10) Favre will start all 16 games in 2006, running his consecutive start streak to 237 games.
-- Duh! He's only done just that since 1992.

I was confused by this; didn't want to make a thread just about this.

Taken from ESPN.com's latest mock draft.

5. Green Bay Packers (4-12)
Top five needs: OG, OLB, C, CB, ILB
The pick: A.J. Hawk, OLB, Ohio State
The Packers have done a good job recently of addressing their needs at wide receiver (Rod Gardner), defensive tackle (Ryan Pickett) and safety (Marquand Manuel). Still missing, though, is an impact playmaker in the defensive back seven. Hawk not only fits the bill but also has the leadership qualities to turn around a Packers defense that has struggled the last few seasons.

What's the deal with the ILB? Did something happen to Barnett, or is this just everyone saying he isn't as good as his numbers say?

He is not as good at MLB as his numbers say.
He would be better outside, he's too small at MLB. Alot of his tackles take place 5 or more yards behind the line and he never stands anybody up he usually gets run over and makes the tackle from behind.
The kid is a great football player and has alot of heart but he has been playing out of position.
