I was wondering how many fans are really there for either team.
I had a suspicion that the majority or a very good number of them are football fans who just want the experience and will get tickets in advance and not give a damn and just want to be there because it's the frikken Super Bowl.
Like those old farts in the credit card ads who go to every one.

    You confirmed my hunch.

    From your link

Attempts at quantifying the loyalty of Steeler Nation relative to other NFL fan bases have shown mixed results. A 2006 study by the American City Business Journals placed the team's fans 21st out of 32 teams in the league,[20] behind all three of its division rivals in the AFC North. The study found that although the team had been selling out games for years, some fans were not actually attending the games, and Pittsburgh's weekly turnout percentage for home games was 16th in the league.[21] That ranking was down seven slots from the publication's survey conducted in 1997, which ranked Steeler Nation 14th out of 30 teams, partly due to fans leaving nearly 10 percent of the seats in the stadium empty.[22]

Just to elaborate a little...everybody that goes to a SB game has their favorite team before the game...but most of the crowd are NOT die-hard football fans of the teams playing...they are the "bandwaging type" , that want to have the ultimate Super Bowl experience.

The crowd noise is a "Moot" point at the SB!

This where I think your wrong...

This is not like a regular SB this is the SB with the BEST FAN base

It will be different..Sure you will have the fair weather fans, the ones that go just to be seen..But I think lot of Packer fans are going to take out 2nd mortgages to go

I think it's ridiculous to try and have bragging rights over who's got the most fans.
Being a fan of a certain team is a personal thing and it only matters to that fan and no one else.
The Packers could have only one of their fans in attendance and it won't matter to me because I will still be cheering for them regardless where they play or how many of their fans are at the game.
And all that really matters is who will win the game.

    I think so.
How long has the Horrible Hankie been around?
The Packers started it in the middle 90's I think so its not an original idea this year.

The difference of course is the Packers will use the cheese head and the towel for fun and amusement.

Steelers fans think its a religion or something willing to fight over if you disrespect it

:dontknow: I just dont get it?:dontknow:

But it sure is fun to mock!:happy0005:

They do make it seem like the Terrible Towel is a gift from God himself. If you do any harm to it, its like going through the 9 gates of Hell or something.

I am seriously considering going out and buying a cheap Steelers jersey and write Packers all over it. Then I am going to help people out, and shock them because they think a Steelers fan would actually be considerate. Then saying I am a Packers fan and end their shock.

Where do you hunt this chit up? You're The MAN :)

I hope (no I know) your right about that. Packer fans are everywhere on the planet!

To put it in prospective...both teams in a SB has the equivalent of a "Home Field Crowd"...and it IS the loudest game you will EVER hear if the game remains close.

I've been to many close games in Lambeau, & experenced the great "Lambeau Noise" when their on D, but on O the crowd is quiet.

In the SB, it IS noisy the WHOLE game...very strange, indeed, but fact.

To argue, who will have the biggest, loudest, fan base is an, "effort in futility"

I feel sorry for that girl being born to a control freakazoid monster of a "father" like that.

And I feel bad for all those other kids too.
Hopefully they will get smart and become Packers fans.

And there it is. Not a dig at your fan base in any way. Different fans top the list in different aspects of what makes "good" fans, but when it comes to sheer numbers at road games, nobody comes close to Steeler Nation.
