I think this whole pride thing in a towel is ridiculous.
It's not like finding a rare gem or having a priceless piece of art.
It's just a freakin towel, for corn's sake.
And to me, towels are supposed to be for drying things. Seems like a waste of a piece of good cloth, just to wave it around?

This thread has degenerated into the most ridiculous argument imaginable. Both teams are equal in my opinion as far as how good the fans are concerned. Heading to the smack shack now.

Didn't realize the towels meant so much to the Steelers fans. Fine, I can accept that you feel it's a "Steelers Thing". I see a lot of players from other stadiums doing leaps into the crowd now too, I just see it as respect and I don't whine that they are stealing the Leap from us.

If you don't like it that Titletown towels are gonna get made, go talk to the guy who makes both of them. Like I said before, Packer fans didn't come up with it or trying to copy it. We have more than enough traditions already. A business who wants to make more money and who supports disabled workers did.

    Right.
It's another business trying to make a buck on the Super Bowl.

Does anyone think it's hypocritical that he could be a Packers fan yet is making things for the opposition?
Should we have any grudges for this or is everyone OK with it?

and you say no packers fans will be at game. thats odd as nfl says other than texas we are #2 in buying tickets and that packer fans are dishing out $130 more per ticket than steeler fans as they want to be in lower bowl to cheer on the best team. steeler fans will be up in nose bleed section

NFL.com Blogs » Blog Archive SB ticket sales: State-by-state breakdown «

i was in tampa and saw packers play and the stadium was half filled with cheeseheads. i doubt if steeler fans travel as much as packer fans but you can dream on if you wish. they even did a poll on nflcanada what team was the best and OPPs packers win again

did anyone see the nfl special on what team has the best fans, home advantage and what place was the best place to see a game ....... GREEN BAY

    GO Pack GO
    Bring lombardi home

There will be bandwagon fans there too cheering on both teams. (I extend a warm welcome to the Packers ones.)
Hopefully the Packers will get the majority of them. At least the ladies and dads and daughters.
Any father cheering on the Steelers with his daughter is gonna be a dumb country hick. (Yes. I did go there.)

I knew someone would find something

    Now both teams are pathetic

Lets knock this crap off about the towel..

When the SB happens we will see how many fans are there for both teams, or who is the loudest..

Stop acting like its a given for either side..

    Until then just RELAX

No need for a battle of fans bases. Both fan bases are awesome. Between the two of us, we are gonna blow the dome off Dallas ski high! :happy0005:

LOL @ the Steelers celebrity fanbase. Bret Michaels, and Thomas Tobin on man it just keeps getting better and better. A washed up musician that does reality TV shows, and a perverted priest! How cute!!! BTW those towels were brought up a Miami Dolphins. Your voice of the Steelers decided it would be a great idea to use a "Towel" since he had seen them in the 72 playoffs. Brought the whole idea up in 75, and now the funds go toward his sons schools for special needs kids. It's a good idea actually but I don't like the idea of using a towel myself. I'll just stick to a cheesehead....

No they want this to be a rivalry since we are playing them in the superbowls. I don't hate the Steelers at all but boy their fanbase is itching for a fight...

As a Steelers fan, I've always respected the Packers and the fans of your team. So, I come to your forum humbly and respectfully from the onset.

As fans of our teams, could we have asked for a better Superbowl? And in Dallas Cowboys' Stadium of all places? I know there's gonna be trash talking and all that. It's part of the game and tradition for fans of any team.

Regardless who has the best and most fans - or the best traveling fans, I'm just happy that the Steelers are considered to be the underdog in this match-up. THAT to me, is beautiful because the Steelers THRIVE on that.

I will be in Arlington and having fun in DFW. Will you?

And by the way, yeah, Brett Michaels is a Steeler fan. So what. At least we have Snoop Dog!

Good luck Pack. It's gonna be one of the best SB's ever IMO.

    Go Steelers!!!!!!

LTF, You have been a classy fan and a gracious host and I deeply appreciate that.

But having said that, there will definitely be more Steeler fans at the SB than Packer Backers. Rock-solid ironclad zero hesitation 100% guaranteed. The Packer fans might very well be louder, tho'. Can't say.

That's not in any way intended to take anything away from Packers fans or talk smack. It's simply an objective fact. Steeler fans don't merely travel well, we invade like it's D-Day. it's so overwhelming it's actually awe-inspiring.
If you've never seen "the Invasion of the Bumble-People" first-hand, prepare to be awed on Sunday.

That is not to say that the Packers fans are somehow "less-good", because you're every bit the equal of any other fan base in this league. But sheer numbers at road games? No contest. It's something that must be seen to be believed.
