I've learned to like soccer, but dude above is right: FIFA is outdated like the middle East is on life......
    Some rules are horrible.

The corruption that's allowed for the World Cup bidding is assenine.

But the rules of the game need to be switched, and those futbol GIFs are evidence of one thing: Those SUPER FLOPS might fool the referee who can't see everything, but it is obvious as heck on the HD replays.

Anyone caught doing such a thing needs to be red-carded, and suspended for many games. It will stop it.

The game is rough and it's tough to officiate.

But like with the goal that went across the line in the World Cup but wasn't counted because the zebra was blind, TAKE ADVANTAGE of the modern technology with the replays in HD. Get the calls right, that's the most important thing.

A little more scoring would be nice too.

I've played amateur football in Argentina against locals (I'm from Brazil). Have also played in Uruguay.
That, my friend, is dirty football. Every single play they leave the elbow, they try to stick a finger in your butt, always hit you when the ref is not looking. I've received death treats every game I've played.

There's also that in Brazil, but damn those Argentinians and Uruguayans are tough and dirty. And, worst of all, as we're in their country, it's their refs.
FIFA tries to keep the game as simple as possible, so it's able to be played similarly anywhere everywhere.

I think it's ridiculous, the more important championships, that can afford the technology, should be able to utilize it to make a more fair game.

The scoring will never change, and it's something only americans complain about, quite frankly.

    Now, back on topic:

They have been experimenting with a ball that has small electronics built into it and will be easier to track through the goal. In the NFL the ball has to just "break the plane" but in FIFA the ball has to cross the line. So developing a device that determines when the ball actually crosses the line is tricky.

And yeah, the stuff that went on at world cup was really stupid. I was cheering for Deutschland, of course, so some of the calls went their way and I can't complain about those if I'm going to complain about the ones that didn't.

Typically, the Bundesliga produces some physical soccer, but their World Cup team is predicated on speed and sharp passing.

The final at the world cup should have been Spain - Deutschland, their players are very classy in and out the field, not a lot like De Jong

I know you are just teasing. But you guys do know there is a lot of faking going on in American Football too, don't you?

Roethlisberger fakes a leg injury, then busts a big run on the next play.

I remember how one running back (I think it was Emmit Smith) wrote that it was standard practice to act like a hit really hurt you and get up real slow, so the opponent or the ref would believe it. Then on your next chance, just take off like lightning.

Defensive players lay down and act hurt if their defensive switches need more time. They'll also do it to slow down a hurry up. This was so frequent at one point the NFL instituted the "time out" rule for doing this inside of the last 2 minutes. But they still do it plenty outside of that time.

Defenders will commonly fake being held.

Receivers are often play acting that they were interfered with, etc...
