Matter of fact the 2011 Packers are the first 15-1 team to not win a playoff game or make it to the conference championship game.

    Biggest choke job ever?

    Just saying

Nah, not CHOKE job. They just played bad and rusty all the way thru the game from start to finish.
The Vikings DID CHOKE, having the game won a couple times, but A) letting Chris Chandler do-or-die drive on them, and B) Denny the sherrif Green choking at the end of the game and not going for points and C) the kicker missed his ONLY kick of the whole year.

They choked, and as half my best friends are Viking fans, they know as we do (from the times Farve did it to us) that getting THAT CLOSE to winning the game and then choking it, hurts worse and lasts longer.

Viking fans feel like total losers forever because of it, as they should. They've NEVER ONCE won a Super Bowl and in fact have not made it even to a Super Bowl in over 3 decades. Very pathetic. Team should flee that state, as I did 6 years ago.

Spin Incorporated has already begun. You lost to a team at home that you were supposed to beat. That is a choke. Keep trying to spin it. ESPN already a bigger choke than the 07 Pats.

BTW the Vikings lost to a 14-2 Atlanta Falcons team which was the second best team in the NFL. A choke yes...but not to the degree I saw yesterday in Trash Bay.

Also the Vikings have a storied past, an NFL championship...multiple hall of famers....never have sucked for back to back decades like the Packers did. They also have one of the highest winning percentages of all time. Don't try to lump us in with a team like the Brewers who have won nothing in their entire existence.

1... The Vikings won 1 NFL Championship (before the AFL-NFL merger) and armand34... let's hope that your sig picture doesn't come true any time soon. "Super Bowl or Die" You wouldn't want your QB to keel over in his sleep or anything.

This Vikings fan was hoping for a San Francisco-Green Bay NFC Championship game. I don't like Coughlin, I don't like Eli Manning, I don't like New York. If Minnesota isn't in the play-offs, I cheer for the other NFC North teams to bring the Lombardi to the division! Now it's time to hope for a New England-San Francisco Super Bowl.

THE VIKINGS HAVE NEVER WON A SUPER BOWL... THEY ARE IRRELEVANT

I would also like to say that the 18-0 New England Patriots losing to the Giants in the Super Bowl was the biggest choke/upset of all time.

True. The Vikings are credited with a NFL championship in 1969, the year they lost to the Chiefs in SBIV - the first one to be actually called 'the Superbowl'. The leagues was still separate, therefore what is now the NFCC game was the Championship game. Even though the Vikings went on to lose Superbowls 8, 9 and 11, that was considered the championship game, and they didn't get the credit for being league champions.

    Why even bother trying?
You really have nothing to say until you switch to a better team.

I'll be honest... I long for the glory days of the XFL.

One a side note, anyone want to come over for dinner? Making large t-bone steaks and baked potatoes. Made seven too many. LOL Some people are rude enough NOT to call and tell you they can't make it because they forgot. How the hell do you forget steak?

    Are you kidding yourself here?
Your past is one of, if not THE MOST, pathetic STORIED pasts in the NFL.
The Super Bowl has been around for 46 years. We've won 4 of them, including 2 of the past 15, and appeared in a 3rd in that same 15 years.
I know we have some fans who are barely over 15, but still, to be in 20% of those Super Bowls over 15 years... and win 2 of them.

That's pretty good, and doesn't include going wwwwwaaaaaaaay back to the 1960's when we won the first 2 Super Bowls. That's ancient history.

Now, how long as it been again since you guys won some Super Bowls? Hmmm...How about A Super Bowl? In 46 years....
OK then, well, at least appeared in one.

Oh, the 1970's was the last one? Really? So someone who us under 40 years old has no idea what it feels like to even have their Vikings IN a Super Bowl? Wow.... about 35 years since an appearance?

You know, there are only 16 teams in the NFC so once every 16 years is par for the course.... we've had 3 in that span.... oh, ZERO ZERO you say?

But wait, you had 3-minute Tommy.
You had Keith Millard and Hall of Famers Chris Doleman and Randall McDaniel.
    Garry Zimmerman..... Joey Browner.
Cris Carter. Randy Moss. Randall Cunningham. Daunte Culpooper. Randy Moss, the SuperFreak. Adrian Peterson... surely there would be some rings or at least Super Bowl appearances right?

The Cardinals, Rams, Falcons... they all had their times in the game. Even the Seachickens were in one, and almost won.

Hilarious that any Viking fan would even pretend to talk trash with us.
That's like the country of Africa telling us how to run a prosperous country.

Yeah, if by "storied" you mean make believe.

Once upon a time, in a land (an imaginary land) far, far, away, . . . and after the Vikings won a Super Bowl they all lived happily ever after.

I guess there will be no joy in Mudville (Mud Duckville that is).

Hard to choke as the defending champs. You have a slight pass when you won it all the previous season.

@FrankRizzo - I've been a Vikings fan since '68 and remember all four Super Bowl losses. Painful? Kinda. I've attended some real doozies of a game in person like when they beat Joe Montana's heavily favored 49ers back in '87 in the playoffs and was able to cheer. I've stuck with them through thick and thin and watched enough inconsistent play to drive a fan insane. I've also seen some games that made me embarrassed, as in Moss mooning the Green Bay crowd. The off-field antics never impressed me either whether it was the Loveboat scandal, Tice's ticket scalping or just plain crappy coaching *cough Steckel cough* All in all, each and every one of the 32 teams in the NFL have a history... some longer than others. They've had HOF players on the gridiron and they've even set a few records (for better or worse) in the process. The Vikings have 50 years in the league and they're fun to watch (if you're a Vikings fan). Don't "diss" them because they're a rival or because a flaming fan shows up.

I played the game for 14 years and have coached high school, college and semi-pro for over 20 and I have never condoned taunting, poor sportsmanship or cheap play. I hold myself to this same degree outside of the game. I show you guys respect and expect the same in return. I love the game of football, period. I am not a flaming poster that a few Vikings (amongst the other 30 teams that visit here) fans come across as. I know plenty of Green Bay fans and they are really great people. I even know a few Cowboy fans that are good people. Makes me sick to say that, but they are. lol

Your Packers will be back next year minus a few starters who'll move due to free agency. You'll be favored to win the NFC North. One of the front runners for the NFC and the Super Bowl. Be happy you have an elite QB leading your team! The Vikings, on the other hand, will be rebuilding and trying to get their pieces in place. Hopefully AP recovers fully and they figure out what to do in the draft and FA.

I am looking forward to sparring words with all of you Packer fans over the next few years. Good luck in the draft and enjoy the rest of the playoffs. By the way, the steaks turned out perfect! Nothing like grilling in winter!

Nope, the OP's right, they choked. Just like a good movie with a stupid ending. Nothing much to do now except wait for the sequel next fall.
