    BZZZZZZ

Surprisingly, and unfortunately, it is all too true. The only star I ever saw was Steve Martin. He happened to be filming a scene from the Out of Towners remake at the train station I go through every day.

Also true. It was at the old Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh in 1980. It wasn't intended to be his final concert but unfortunately ended up as just that as he died a month or so later.

Fred Rogers lived less than a mile away from my elementary school in Pittsburgh and did in fact attend my 3rd grade class play.

DING DING we have a winner

Although - it wasn't that hard to make up as my Dad (PackinSteel Sr - who actually would be BrowninSteel) did in fact bike across the country twice. The second time after his 70th birthday!

How long did a single trip take him? How many miles did he put on in a day and what season did he start in?

Hats off to your pops.. that is cool.

It was one of those organized trips (he wasn't out there alone). I believe they took about 6 weeks and did 100 or more miles a day. I don't recall specifically but I believe they started late spring/early summer.

The guy still puts more miles on his bike just around town these days than I do in the car!

I'm going to guess #3 simply because I don't think anyone was at the Expos last home game :)
