I did this on one of my really good friends from high school. Just took this picture today for my portfolio. Think it turned out pretty well.

Nice profile, neilfii. Hurt like you know what. He said people usually do it in more than one sitting but I didn't want to go all the way up to his office again. It was 8 hours of family bonding. ILUV, roses. does that surprise you? LOL

I haven't done a portrait in a few years. I've always been nervous about doing portraits because there is zero room for error. They are very difficult. My specialties are american traditional and japanese artwork. I did a really coold tattoo yesterday that was brass knuckles, but they were made of cheese and had the super bowl logo on them. It was awesome. I will post a picture once its healed.

Just curious, what will these look like in 30 years when people are in there 50's and their skin is starting to go south on them? You defiantly have a talent.

I'm in my 50's and I think my skin is holding up pretty darn good. ;)

The thing is, if they're embarassed by their own skin, they wouldn't be showing it in the first place. Tattoo or no tattoo...

If the skin "goes south" and they don't care, it wouldn't be a problem that the tattoo isn't as well-designed as it used to be, because usually it's more than just a drawing, there's plenty of memories to go along with it.

And even if they just did a tattoo for fun (I'd never do it, but to each their own), it would still remind them of a time where they were young and had the courage to do it.

It would take quite a fickle person to do something as permanent as a tattoo and then later on regretting it. And if such person is as fickle as that, a tattoo wouldn't be the only thing that person would be regretting.

    Just my 2 cents...

Kind of depends. I stretch the skin as far as I can while I'm tattooing. Gets the ink deeper in the skin and helps the ink set in the skin better so it will look good down the road. I mean, ink definitely fades and spreads, there is no getting around that. If the black outlines are done well, fading shouldn't be an issue.
