    Tackling is such a huge part in today's game. There are so many west coast offenses which depend on yards after catch. Our team as a whole has to get better. Besides this game I thought our defense has been decent at tackling. I'll give them a break this week because they were vsing AP. Blocking and Tackling is so underrated in today's game but continues to be the most important facet in football.

    It does not help that some of our DB's try to tackle high, at shoulder level, which is a good way to get shrugged off or that they try to do that shoulder roll into the legs of the runner.....not good form or function on either one.
    * stick'em and wrap'em .....drive'em to the turf......

    If you want a tutorial on how NOT to tackle, just check out Jenning's worthless attempt on Peterson's first long run. We all saw it. So many flaws in his technique on that particular play that it makes you wonder if he's ever been taught the proper way to tackle at ANY level. Head on the wrong side, point of attack above the waist(on a bigger man and A.P. no less) not even an attempt to wrap up, no attempt to drive through the ball carrier and zero awareness of A.P's position on the field and his proximity to the sideline, necessitating only a firm shove to end the play. Proper tackling technique is imperative at the NFL level and especially when facing a beast like A.P. Apparently, M.D. Jennings wasn't made aware of that the week leading up to Sunday.
