Well, with Rodgers sliding down to the 24th pick, how could we NOT draft him?

Of course you had to draft Aaron. I do think this is different though. Peyton is due a pretty hefty payday this offseason and Luck would be the first pick in the entire draft!!!

What is going on with the Colts? Well, some say the entire coaching staff may still get canned. But, the new gm may be the one to can Caldwell instead and evaluate him.

And a day after firing the Polian crew this is what our owner says on twitter:

I am starting to seriously love this man lmao. Word is Peyton was stunned. He was talking to Bill Polian when Irsay interrupted him to bring him into his office to can him. Peyton apparently was really shocked btw.......
And Irsay did say yesterday that he does not want to just patch things up for a few 9 to 10 win seasons then fall to the bottom again. He wants to build long term success here again.

Irsay is the Twitter King! Half the time, you have no idea what he's on, but he's always good for a laugh.

Don't know if you've been to the official Colts board lately, Jules, but it reminds me of an elementary school playground with all the "my quarterback can beat up your quarterback" bickering and everyone knowing exactly what is going to happen, not only in the draft, but with the GM, HC and for the next 17 seasons. It's really sad that the fans of my favorite team are insufferable. Glad we have a place like this, even if we are relegated to the "Smack Area".

Once in a while I check for news there. I don't post there anymore nor have an account even. I saw the Luck/Peyton/coaching/gm debates lately. I think people need to patient here. Just sit back and wait.

However there was an interview with Bill Polian today. I heard he said no hard feelings and all that. He totally respects Irsay. He did however say that he feels Jim wants to maybe start over with bringing in a new QB. I totally think the Colts are taking Luck. It just depends on Peyton too. Jim wants Peyton I believe but also has even admitted there are health concerns and how violent football can be.

I did see one interesting post on colts.com recently. A guy who claims he had the same surgery Manning did and says he has to bend his entire back backwards when he drinks. He can't just do it alone with his neck.

This Peyton thing does concern me. He is due what 28 million this year? I just don't know.........*sigh*

Still wondering which direction Indy will go here. Get Luck, or trade for a BUNCH of draft picks?

Did you see his latest entry on Twitter?

At least he still is showing his sense of humor. I'm sure he has a plan, but what it is remains a pure guess to the rest of us.

I'm starting to hear a lot of Eric DeCosta rumors here in Bmore. Seems he has expressed some interest in the GM spot, and I think he'd be a great fit.

If I am Indy, why not sign Matt Flynn as your QB of the future (He obviously can play) and trade the #1 for a butt load of picks to shore up the many holes that the Colts have? If they took this route, it wouldn't be shocking to see them in the playoffs again.

    1. QB of the future is secured
    2. You save face, with Peyton Manning, your fans, by avoiding the PR nightmare (of kicking Manning out to the curb)
    3. You plug several holes that your team currently has.

    Win, Win, Win!

You're missing the obvious, Flynn is not really all that good it is just that the Packers have a great "system." You know, Rodgers isn't really all that good; he is a "system" quarterback -- which must mean that Flynn is as well.

I have heard the idea of Flynn floated around at times and I do like him a lot. Not a bad option. But, I do think the team sucked too hard for Luck and not for Flynn. The idea of Flynn and getting picks is a good one but not sure how expensive either.

I still think we have to go with Luck. The issue will be Manning's health and how much Irsay can convince to cut from his salary I think. We need to cut the costs of our QBs if we use the first pick on Luck.

Many are convinced that if Peyton is healthy there is no way we don't go with him next season. Problem I have is are we talking healthy for a regular guy or an NFL QB who can take hits week after week?

I've been on the Luck wagon for some time so I kinda want him. :)

Basically said Manning is the player, not the management, and you dont speak outside your paygrade. He said he takes his paycheck and does his job.

Alot of truth to his rant. You never let a player get to the point where they think they have a say in management. Ahem looking at you Brett.

Man oh man the media is gonna have a field day with this aren't they? Is it because Peyton said he was shocked and stunned by Polian getting canned? Also if the Packers are in the SB (and they should be) then Aaron will of course be asked about the Manning/Luck thing as well LOL.

I did read this though and if this is true I don't like it.

Not sure if it can happen but I would love to get my hands on both Luck and Blackmon. You could sorta try to mimic what the Bengals are doing.

    Go back 3 years...

Talk about dumping Manning in Indianapolis

Get adjudicated "Totally and Hopelessly Insane"

Yet, here we are: the GM is gone, Luck is on the horizon, Manning is on the mend and a 20+ million paycheck is looming on the horizon.

End result: Luck is drafted. The new era begins in Indy. Peyton either gives up the 20+ million payday or is CUT or traded.

To me, it's entirely conceivable that the Colts try to trade Peyton, are turned down because of the balloon payment of 20+ million due Manning in March ....... and are forced to cut him in order to save the 20+ million.

That's money they're going to have to give Luck anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if they cut out the middleman (Manning).

Because that would make some sense? Well, maybe not if Manning CAN come back and play.

Everything I would do is decided by Manning.

Although if I wasn't going to start, why would Matt want to go there?

Manning can read the writing on the wall. His time in Indy is ending. If I am Matt, I know this: MAYBE I sit one year, but with a long term contract in tow, I know I'll get my shot to start. Matt will get to play with a young, hungry team (if they get several picks for the #1 overall.)

Matt can play, Luck "might" be great.

So what, are the Colts cleaning house or something? It sounds like they are getting rid of everybody and going into rebuild mode with Luck at the helm and God only knows who in management. Overhauls on this large of a scale frighten me.

I was excited at the rumors of the potential GMs, but not any longer. I wouldn't be surprised to see them promote Tom Telesco who is already in house. That might bode well for Caldwell staying on as HC. I'm hearing rumors that Irsay has considered RGIII at QB, but reports point otherwise (Luck). I'm going to have a hard time swallowing going through all of this and more or less staying the same except at QB.

I think Luck has all the tools to step in after Manning, but if they don't build around him, change the D strategy, improve special teams and get more balanced on O, it's going to be rough.

If they don't take Luck I would go ballistic. I heard Polian is the one who kinda liked RG3. Irsay sounds like he likes Luck more, maybe gives him Manning vibes.

As for the new head coach if it's Caldwell again I will freaking puke. If they want to keep him on the team to help out on offense or coach QBs thats fine but get a new HC. Not sure why this is taking so long.
