He's tall, white, smart and not the best looking guy. Basically he sounds like a Colts player.

We're #2! Forget about Luck, we've got Orlovsky. That was a fun game to watch, didn't think I'd be able to say that about a Colts game this season.

Oh my God Oh my God Oh my God That was like......a usual Colts game. I had a feeling they might win tonight and I said no way. Houston has this great D and run game. They never beat us in Indy but I still said no way.

Orlovsky might be worth keeping around. He gave NE all he could handle. He beat the Titans/Texans. Maybe we have something in a backup here like with Sorgi? I don't know. If we beat the Jags and I think we can we might have to lean towards o line or D in the first pick.

I am speechless........OMG. I was screaming. I feel bad for the Texans fans but still this was freaking great.

I am starting to think Peyton throwing to the guys for a few weeks got them pumped up to win for next year? It's tough to say. Houston has some issues though on offense. They could be one and done sadly by the 6th seed.

Orlovsky not at practice today. His wife gave birth to triplets!!!!!

Me thinks it might be best for him to stay with her and the babies for the rest of the week. Let Painter have another evaluation in the game Sunday instead. ;) I mean Orlovsky has to be distracted and won't be at full mental capacity for Sunday.....

The family comes first Dan. The family. He will be distracted.

Ol' Peyton and his brother both look like dad used to beat them with the ugly stick.
Is Orlovsky ugly? I can't remember. Didn't he have like monkey ears or something?

Which is sort of the wrong thing to say with my avatar.

I honestly don't think I ever noticed Orlovsky's looks. I don't think he is that bad.

And be fair. Peyton at least looks a lot smarter then Eli does.

I may have to change my avatar soon depending on the game. Colts/Jags though even when the Colts are good are close games. They always get up for the Colts and MJD runs his butt off.

Funny though even if the Colts get the second pick the Rams may not want a QB. But, they could also trade the pick. Thats why I want the first pick. Even if you don't take Luck you have the trade option to rob a team.

I can't believe the Vikings won one to get one game down in the Suck For Luck contest.

They're far more accustomed to "older" more "experienced" quarterbacks. I know they selected Ponder, but having done so they didn't even give him a chance.

Just what do they have to do to "give him a chance"? They pulled McFlabb pretty early and started Ponder. Then they dumped McFlabb and the only viable backup is Webb.

This isn't his first year. They selected him last year and then "persuaded" Favre to come back. It was tongue in cheek. Favre last year. McNabb this year. Yeah, they're giving him his chance now, but he was clearly not their first choice.

And no the Colts did not tank today. They lost fair and square. Not a good road team. 0-8 on the road this year. They got run over as expected.

Kinda annoying though to see crap like Houston and the Titans. I mean seriously this is what is replacing the usual playoff Colts? *sigh* Amateurs.

    And CHANGES BEGIN

Irsay showed more balls then I thought he would. He fired the evil Polian's. Bill and Chris. Wow!!!! It was time folks. These are not good men. They have tanked a lot of recent drafts and have been arrogant A holes.

    And this:
    bkravitz Bob Kravitz
In the end, the new GM will pick his own guy, and highly doubt that guy will be Jim Caldwell.

Not sure what this all spells for Peyton though. We are going in rebuilding mode IMO and Irsay made this clear. Not sure at all what happens. Irsay adores Manning but he also apparently was "married to Bill Polian."

BTW there has been a rumor the Colts may contact someone from the Packers to be the gm but I can't confirm this.

Today's move removed any doubt that Irsay is committed to the future success of the team, even if it means taking a step back to get there. I had anticipated the big announcement to be the firing of Blinky, which is imminent. Firing the Polians was a bit out of left field, but I'm glad to see it happen. The team needs a shakeup in a big way, and hopefully this is the start they need. In all honesty, as I was watching Baylor and RG3, I was thinking how nice it would be to see the Colts make a move toward drafting him, as he's a complete departure from what the team has been, and might speed the rebuilding process along.

I see Irsay drafting a QB more in the mold of a young Manning, which is Luck. Unless he does not draft a QB and does try to patch things up as much as he can do get a few years in the Peyton era with extra picks in a trade. I only want Luck from the first round. If we go in another direction thats fine but I am not on the RG3 bandwagon at all and I am not convinced either he will be a good NFL QB someday.

It's a tough one here. I don't see how the Colts can rebuild with Peyton in his final years. This is a tough one.

I have to say I love what the Bengals have done.

Firing the Polian clan is the right thing. I never thought he would do it though. I have no doubt a new gm might can Caldwell but right now they may not be ready to fire more coaches. The firing of the evil Polian clan is enough to absorb and IMO the biggest issue. I always said that if you fire Caldwell that is not enough. There are deeper issues on this team. I feel those issues are leaving now. I could tell you guys plenty of stories about Polian and his son. They are not good men. Caldwell as bad as he is though could be decent with good coordinators IMO. Coyer was an effing joke.

Fully agree on rebuilding with Manning nearing retirement, it can't happen. It isn't fair to him and it won't really move the team forward. I'm not sure RG3 will be an NFL success, but looking at the Cam Newton situation and seeing how electric RG3 could be (at least in the college game) is at least somewhat exciting. I think they will go with Luck, and have no problems with that. It is the smart, safe move. That, coupled with the changes in the front office moves and any coaching moves are the right path for the team. I still hope Caldwell is gone, but only if they don't bring in someone like Tressel.

I don't know. Why fire the Polians and keep the coach?

Caldwell can still get canned eventually. It's up to the new gm. And the new gm is ging to be hired soon enough hopefully. Within a few weeks or so. There is even a rumor Jeff Fisher wants to coach the Colts so who knows.

Right now they said the coaching staff is "under evaluation."

Luck does not even have great receivers. I just saw him hit a 50 yard post in stride off play action....a bit Peyton-esque.

You take Luck. It's the right decision. He is moldable as hell too with the right people. The Colts have a few people at the Stanford game right now.

If you keep Manning you take Luck for sure. Luck can learn a lot watching Manning. If they fired Caldwell and promoted Tressel I would puke.

I am confused right now too about Peyton. I just am not sure you can change everything and keep Manning. Almost seems more fair to let him go to a better team ready to contend. I don't know whats going to happen. Irsay loves Manning but he was also supposedly loyal to Polian. This is tough. And how happy would Peyton be if you bring him back and spend the first pick on a QB a la Rodgers?

Ahhh damn. Luck with a pick. Oh well he has his good and bad. No great WRs either. Hey not even Peyton played his best in big games in college. This is a tough game tonight.

IMO Irsay also sounded concerned about Peyton. About his long term health and about how violent football is.

The Colts also have quite a few FAs. Including Wayne, Mathis and Jeff Saturday.

This is going to be an interesting offseason.......

Saw the Manning quote about him being disappointed and surprised with the firings. I'm sure things will find a way to settle (however they may) over the next few weeks, but right now things in Indy seem to be crazy.

Son of a *****. The Stanford kicker. See, Luck already knows what it's like to be Peyton in a big game. Get your kicker in range and watch him shank it.

Saw this on a Colts forum lmao:

Gotta say I'm liking the rumored moves to Reggie McKenzie and Jeff Fisher, though at this point, in my knowledge, those are just that, rumored. Brandon Hunt from Pittsburgh is another name I've heard thrown around as the new GM. Gonna be interesting for sure.
