The Colts did spend their first two draft picks on OTs in the recent draft. Castonzo has been good enough at LT as a rookie and despite the QB disasters at times this year the o line has some some improvements actually. He had been hurt off and on though. He got hurt against the Bucs but came back a few weeks ago. The second round rookie got hurt against the Bucs for the season. The Colts got hammered with injuries in Tampa Bay that MNF game.

The Colts may also head into the direction of trying to get a WR as well. I love what the Bengals did with Dalton and Green and letting them grow into a threat together for years to come.

Many Colts fans are against taking a QB to sit on the bench behind Peyton if that situations arises. They would rather pick someone to help Peyton and the Colts win now if need be.

Breaking news on Manning.....some speculate Peyton will play before the year is over. I am not sure I am into this idea.

Colts | Peyton Manning rehab update
    Thu, 01 Dec 2011 15:46:37 -0800
The Indianapolis Colts announced Thursday, Dec. 1, that QB Peyton Manning's (neck) surgery in September "has achieved firm fixation." "Peyton will now be allowed to increase the intensity and breadth of his workouts as tolerated. There remains every indication that his recovery will continue. There still is no timetable for Peyton's return to practice, which is one of many steps in his expected return to game action," doctor Robert Watkins said.

Of course to clarify "firm fixation" does not mean total healing.

Our owner is on crack at times lmao. Jim Irsay's latest tweet:

    JimIrsay Jim Irsay
Sum of u that buy N2 absurd rumor that we've been preparing #18 n secrecy n he'll make his shocking return against Patriots is ridiculous!

Irsay is the reason I'm on Twitter. Cryptic, crack laden posts like this one are nothing compared to some of what he's put up there. I'm pretty sure the guy was, at some point, abducted by aliens.

    I'd
I don't see Manning playing this year. Part of his rehabilitation was NO PHYSICAL ACTIVITY to allow his neck to properly heal. To me it impossible for anyone who hasn't had ANY physical activity since the surgery to play professionally in a month. (roughly what's left in the regular season.) :whistling: Peyton, like any true competitor I know it's killing you watching from the sidelines, but it's just football. You're a husband and a father, you have responsibilities that are more important than QB'ing the Colts. Why risk a permanent injury by rushing back? Rest up, get well and spend as much time as possible with your fam, and get ready to kick *** 2012.

Yeah Peyton has twin babies! His wife gave birth in the offseason pretty close to when Eli's wife had a baby girl. He was showing off the son at the last home game. (hey don't forget the girl Peyton!!! ;:)

I say we just wait until the son is old enough now and draft him. ;)

I really don't want Peyton out there this year. I know he may want to prove himself before the year is over but this o line may not be ready yet. I may need an oxygen mask if they waltz him out there before the year is over.

There are also conflicting reports if Peyton and Polian actually HAD a discussion yet about drafting a QB with the first round pick this draft.

This is just ridiculous. First of all I wish Archie would shut the hell up at times when it comes to his sons. He looks like a stage dad at times. And secondly, Peyton did a long interview before the Pats game this weekend. And he seemed pretty good to me. However near the end when asked about QBs the Colts may draft and specifically Luck I felt his voice got faster with his answers and he seemed flustered.

    This could be a mess.

Yeah, this could get UGLY fast. Peyton has been the alpha male in Indy since '98. It's not easy for a legend to step away from being the man. (see Brett with A-Rod) not saying Peyton will act like Brett, but it's gotta be tough for Peyton to hear all this Andrew Luck talk.

Yeah and regardless of who the Colts could draft at QB, I just Peyton Sunday before the game pretty much say Polian was full of **** and they never had a conversation recently about drafting a QB.

Also, if this team keeps Caldwell that is just idiotic. And I think they may keep him now. They fired the DC which they may feel is enough. Polian loves Caldwell.

Polian is a problem now. And so is his son.

If they do draft Luck, he better have some thick skin. Remember, there were several Packers fans that booed A-Rod in training camp when he was first drafted. It helped that Aaron has been doubted football-wise most of his life. That's a lot of pressure to step in after a legend. The first time Luck makes several rookie mistakes in a game the boo birds will come out, and he better be able to handle the criticism to succeed in Indy.

Cut Manning makes $$$$ sense for Colts.

    http://nfl.si.com/2011/12/07/colts-stuck-in-peyton-purgatory/?sct=hp_wr_a2&eref=sihp

    • Manning is due a $28 million contract bonus before March. If the Colts give him that money, it would trigger the remaining four years of his contract and would put Manning’s salary cap hit for 2012 at $17 million.
    • The Colts cannot trade Manning prior to paying him that bonus, so the only two realistic options are to release him before it kicks in or hold onto him for at least another season.
    • Cutting Manning would save the Colts approximately $6.6 million toward the 2012 salary cap — Manning’s cap hit would drop from $17 million (with $35.4 million actually paid out to him because of the bonus) to $10.4 million, if Indianapolis released him.
The numbers are staggering, especially for a team like Indianapolis, outside a major market.

Manning always has crippling salary cap numbers, but he seems to restructure his contract when "it" is about to hit the fan. I have no doubt that he'll restructure again.

That's if he's still "The Man" in Indy. If I were him, why would I re-structure my contract to help a team that has already moved on? (assuming they take Luck #1) There are a lot of variables, but I don't see this ending well for Peyton or Indy's PR dept.

I don't either. I think it's going to be ugly unless somehow the Colts draft Luck and he and Manning get along famously as he rides the bench for a year or two before Peyton retires

The longer this goes on and the more I hear Peyton speak (big interview before the Pats game Sunday)the more I think he may be dead set on coming back and regaining his job. I also felt his
voice got faster and he got more flustered when asked about the Colts drafting a QB and specifically Luck.

    Oh boy.

I know Peyton well and can read him like a book at times. I would love to be proven wrong but I just still have a tough time seeing both Manning/Luck on the Colts next year.

He does eat up a lot of the cap and a lot of good that does the Colts with him sitting on the bench. But who is to say they will not be in a same situation if they draft Luck and he proves to be the player everyone thinks he's going to be? Luck just may wind up eating more of the cap than Manning.

Has anyone found Peyton Manning gorgeous all these years?

    Anyone?

We do well without good QB looks. None of that pretty boy BS like in New England. Our QBs are real man. REAL.

    LOL!

    Give Tom a break....:cautious:

Tom Brady like Aaron Rodgers are from California. We do things a little different out west. True stroy: I visited my sister 2 years ago in Athens, GA (she's a student at UGA) and I caught a college football game while I was down there. Now, my drink of choice while tailgating at a USC football game is a nice Cabernet Sauvignon. (I like to tailgate with a fellow alum who owns a vineyard) Well, I was invited to a tailgate and found a decent Italian Cabernet and took a couple bottles with me to the tailgate. Everyone is eating and drinking and I get the smart idea to bust out the wine.....:eek::rolleyes: Dude, I was heckled like crazy for bringing a pretty boy drink to "Budwiser" party. But, I draw the line a wearing Ugg boots. c'mom Tom, STOP THAT!!!

    Note to self:

Whenver tailgating in the south, do not take a nice Cabernet Sauvignon

I can't compare the two California QBs since one I love. Brady has been transformed with a model wife and bad hair at times. And probably a few bi sexual experiences living in the liberal east coast for so long now.

Aaron......yeah I would do Aaron. Tom? I would not touch him. Eww.

Andrew Luck seriously looks like a Geico caveman. Poor boy has been slapped with an ugly stick. For his sake, I hope he will be a football stud >.<

Also, I think Peyton is an attractive guy. He isn't gorgeous, he isn't sexy like Aaron Rodgers, but he does have an attractiveness. Although contemplating how he's hung freaks me out a little LOL

Tom Brady looks like he's trying to transition into a woman. He's ewweriffic.
