He is shorter than drew brees. Not a promising NFL career for him.

I never noticed it either. I thought they were the same threads!

So what if Luck doesn't draft? That could change everything. The teams that are sucking this season might not be sucking next season. So when Luck does draft, he may go to a team that that no one saw coming.

I think his decision to enter the draft will largely depend on who gets the first pick, though it's possible he pulls an Eli and forces his way off the team that drafted him. Frankly, I think it would be hilarious if he decides to stay in school.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Colts do want him. Here's what Schefter had to say about Luck and the Colts in his most recent mailbag piece:
There will be some twists and turns to it, and eventually Matt Barkley's name might enter the conversation. But when the Colts are on the clock -- and they will be on the clock the day the season ends -- Luck can start looking to buy a new house in Indianapolis. The Colts are expected to hand off their franchise from Peyton Manning to Luck. Amazing.

So do the Colts keep Manning and Luck?

I wish I knew Dan. I wish I knew. I don't even pretend to know what is going on anymore with the Colts. I am lost now. I think Polian once said you don't pass on a great passer or pass rusher. Thats why they took Freeney much higher then he was expected to go in the draft.

I don't know whats going to happen with Peyton but I think he is supposed to get a physical again tomorrow to see where he stands.

That's a good question. I think there is little doubt the Colts will pick up Luck if they get the chance, but what does that mean for Manning? If they keep him is he going to be content with a new prized Colt chomping at the bit? Also, who do they start, Manning or Luck? If they start Luck, I doubt Manning will be content with sitting on the sidelines watching Luck take the snaps for his team. It wouldn't be a bad idea to start Manning next year and have Luck watch and learn. I would be weary of having them both there though. I've said this before, it sounds to me like the makings of a quarterback controversy.

Here's another theory on the Colts. Sometimes a team just needs to clean house and get rid of pretty much everybody. Even Manning. Lets say they get the 1st round pick and decide to trade it off and don't get Luck, sweeping some players off their roster in the process. I don't think it would be a bad idea for a team like the Colts to clean house and go into rebuild mode. Granted, they won't be relevant for a few years, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and go for it.

Oh these Colts, ... and the plot thickens! I wonder if this test is to see when he can return as starter to the Colts or is it to access his trade value? Who wants an aging QB who is banged up? Or if he's healthy, back in the saddle with the Colts or some other team who desperately needs a QB...

I think your thoughts are correct. I hope Ted realizes he must have all pro type linemen to protect Mr. Rodgers.

Gosh, I was watching the Stanford/Notre Dame game. Luck has to be about the ugliest QB EVER! How would you like to see that puss in front of the cameras in after game press conferences every week. That ain't a beard on him, his chest hair just didn't know when to quit.

About the 2:10 point. Schefter is predicting that the Colts would look at trading Manning if he's healthy and cleared to play. If they could get a decent trade and pick up some supplemental talent, at this point I'd be okay with that. Like Kitten said, there comes a time when a team needs to start fresh. The Colts O is simply not set up for anyone but Manning to run. I hope that the promised changes come.

As disappointed in the team and organization as I am this year, I'm a long time Colts fan. Take a couple of seasons, put in new players, coaches and systems, evolve the team to succeed in the future. I know there is a large group of Colts fans who would want to burn me at the stake for this, but the run is over.

I think if Luck wins the Heisman after that awful game against Oregon, the Heisman is truly rigged.
I just feel they are biased, the voters that is, and they don't want another Alabama player to win it, since the state of AL has back to back players (Newton, Ingram) and then it would be 3 in a row, but Richardson truly deserves it more than the media's favorite college quarterback. Even in Alabama's lone loss this year, Richardson had a stellar performance.

I started thinking recently, why not go after Kellen Moore? All this love for Andrew Luck, and yeah he's good but he's never going to live up to the expectations at this point. Moore was in the Heisman race last year, and I am banking on him having a good NFL career.

I also believe if the Colts go after Luck, they are sorta screwing Peyton, but in a way his time is almost up. I got a feeling if they draft Luck, Manning will request a trade or something and will be very pissed at the Colts organization, kinda like Favre was when we brought in Rodgers.

I have this vision of Andrew Luck being the number 1 overall pick, Peyton gets mad and leaves the Colts, and like geniuses they throw Luck behind that horrible O-line and let him destroyed.....Kinda like Jeff George in a way, good quarterback to build on, but he had one of the worst O-lines you ever seen, and no weapons.

I'd still take Barkley> Luck (And not just because I went to USC) ;)

I've heard all the hype and seen a couple games, and I'm still not convinced he a LOCK as a future NFL hall of famer. He's a good QB but some people act like the kid can walk on water. As a matter of fact, Matty B. should win the the heisman. In his last 6 games he's thrown 23TD's vs. 2ints and set the single season completion % record at USC. He's accurate, smart, and can make all the NFL throws.

I'm going on record saying that Matt Barkley will be a better pro than Andrew Luck.

You make a good point. I watched the USC Vs. Stanford game and I must say, I was very impressed with Barkley. He took Luck to 3 OTs in a duel. USC didn't win that game, but something else may of come of it. Barkley.

We seem to be under the assumption that Luck will be the #1 pick. But lets throw a monkey wrench into this. What if he's not?

I am not sure I trust USC QBs......

Luck may not end up being the next Elway or Peyton like he has been compared to. Thats just unrealistic talk. I am not convinced he will be a bust either. He is super smart guy and a hard worker with skills. I don't think he will be a bad QB. I just hope if he lands with the Colts that the fans also give him a chance when Peyton is done here. I know so many Colts fans very loyal to Manning. I love Manning. But, I don't want to give Luck a hard time either.....I will root for him 100% if he comes here.

The Colts would take Luck over Barkley.

How about vs. the best team in (at the time) in the PAC 12: Oregon.

Chip Kelly D keyed in on both QB's:

    Oregon beat Stanford 53-30

Passing: Andrew Luck (STAN) - 256 YDS, 3 TD, 2 INT

USC beat Oregon (in Eugene) no small feat 38-35

Matt Barkley- 323 YDS, 4 TD, 1 INT

Oh yeah, and A. Luck is a dork! What a goofy dude.

Why not take Matt Kalil (ahem, another Trojan;)) #1?

I'm sure the dr.'s are going to check out thoroughly Peyton's neck. If he's healing properly, why not keep him and draft Matt (Kalil) to protect Peyton?

The Colts problems run deeper than QB, with Peyton you have a sure thing at QB with Andrew it's not guaranteed he'll be the next Peyton Manning or even an all-pro.

Just an option to consider at #1
