Well, it looks like the more physical team beat down the more finesse team tonite.

Congrats goes out to the 49ers. The better team most definitely won tonight.

    Studs: None

Duds: Jeremy Ross, Aaron Rodgers, Entire Defense, McCarthy for making a knee jerk reaction of pulling off Ross from kick returns as well as punt returns. Capers... because he stinks.

Shields is the only stud I can think of, probably Harris too.

Losing by three scores?? NO STUDS!!! This entire team was a ticking time bomb ready to explode all year. Tonight proved that.

CM3 very few of the runs were to his side until late.
O-line was tolerable in pass blocking until late in the 3rd when MM aborted the run.
      G Jennings looked OK
Missin Crosby was 100% (I'm reaching now)
Duds: Walden was burned on most of the big runs. Kept getting sucked inside.
      Jones followed him.
Outcoached again. Not a fan of Capers version of the 3-4.
Lady Luck - when your last three 1st round picks are on IR, you are not a team of destiny.

Harris was THE stud. 4.8 yards/carry and a TD. WHY WAS HE ONLY GIVEN THE BALL 11 TIMES?!!

because for some reason McCarthy hates running the ball.

It worked in the super bowl against pittsburg because pittsburg weakness was their pass D, but the Niners are a good all around solid defence. So you need to run the ball to be less predictable and help against their pass rush.

The main issue i have with McCarthy and coaches is their lack of adjustments. too stubborn sometimes and it bites them in the butt most times.

STUDS: Ummmm, *scratch* Harris could have been if MM had used him.

GENERAL ALL-AROUND DUDS AND WHAT HAS TO CHANGE:

            • MM and his play-calling. After so many weeks including tonite, it's clear that he is a mediocre play-caller who fails to utilize his weapons in the best way.
            • Capers. For all his cerebralness, he doesn't seem to know how to defend against a running QB. We have seen opposing offenses have record-breaking days against us all season. Our defense has been crap 3 out of the last 4 years.
            • Tramon Williams. Heyward, Shields and House should be our top 3 CBs. Williams has regressed badly. Trade him or something
            • OL. Our weakness all season long.

No, Harris WAS. He can only do what is asked of him. 53 yards and a TD on 11 carries = STUD.

There's a lot that I like about McCarthy but he rarely makes quality in-game adjustments.

              Studs:
Michael Crabtree. Pretty much abused whoever he lined up on.
Shields: kept up most of the game
Harris. Glad we have him til 2015
Sitton. Other than losing a shoe
              Finley. One pass broken up.
              Jones. Solid all night.

              Duds:
Discipline, was lacking on both sides of the ball
ST. Couldn't get a block all night, and they dropped the ball repeatedly.
Clay. Was the primary fault for most of Kaepernick's runs, completely over pursued.
Wood. A lot of confusion, a lot of plays made in his general vicintity.
Tramon. While it wasn't necessarily his fault, he lost every one on one.
Hayward. Same as Woodson and he got beat.
Neal. Didn't even try to contain, at least he pursued.
3 man rush... Why do we still have this?
EDS. He did a good job blocking, but his adjustments need some work, Willis went unblocked entirely too often while Sopoaga got tripled. No sense there.
Greediness. Maybe AR will finally learn?

Everybody else had their moments both ways.

An interesting point. The lack of a quick pass offense has been a glaring issue all season. Rodgers has more often than not danced around in the pocket trying to make a big play. He also seems to have missed some wide open receivers. Jennings for instance was open in the end zone, but it took a 5 second scramble by Rodgers to finally find him.

Rodgers' pocket awareness + willingness to go short and take what the defense has been giving him are issues that he needs recognize and work on in the offseason.

There was somebody open across the first down on that INT. He actively ignores most checkdowns/short gains

studs: Niners- dominant in all phases
Kaepernick- great game after the pick 6
              Jones- made some nice grabs
              Harris- still looks good

duds: Capers- Dont know what the plan was but it didnt happen !?!
              Ross- muff
              Packers- entire team was dominated
Packers Defense- The stench of this one will linger for years !
MM- should have gotten Driver in the game at the end. (not cool)
Matthews- did he play today ?
Williams- I'm losing faith in Tramon

Serious question, why were the starters still on the field the last 2 mins when we were down by 3? Back-ups got NO love.
