My worst area of spelling/grammer is the apostrophe. Showing possession is not my stong suit. Actually, in my first post, I think that I left out an '.

It might not be "cool"......and i have made plenty of them. But if a TROLL comes on here and makes crude rude comments about my family and myself, you had better believe i will point out every mistake, or rude comment to throw back in his face.
This is our site, and if you come here to insult us, don't be surprised if we take offense to that. (POOFER, UNIPUKE) (left the "R" off on purpose)

Cheesey - Even though it was your post that I read that 'inspired' this topic, I was in no way trying to insult you by posting this. I have made many spelling errors and had them pointed out. I have seen it done a thousand times. I rarely proof read my posts, which causes many errors to go unseen. However, when read after the fact, I sometimes have to laugh at myself. I was not singling you out, I'm sorry if it came off like that.

But, anyway, as good as my grammar is, I don't point out others' mistakes. I think it's a major cop-out in a message board argument. You were able to correct someone, right? Well, that means you understood what they meant, which is good enough... Unless you're trying to grasp for straws because the other person made you look foolish. At that point, you break out the dictionary and grammar rules in order to discredit the author of the post, which really just makes you look silly.
It's "antidisestablishmentarianism", not "antidisestablishmentarinism". Yeah, you win.

4th.....no problem! I have known you and respect you.
Mineral......if you think attacking my family is making me look foolish, thus leaving me grasping for straws, your wrong. I could blast the idiot out of the water with all kinds of comments, but i have respect for others on this board and will not lower myself to the TROLLS level. Tell me, do you think what Poofy the clown wrote about my family and i was classy? If so, you must be on his level.
If you have taken the time to read any of my postings, you would already know that i control myself, and try not to lower myself to THEIR level.
People like that leave themselves open to attack, and i have shown GREAT self control over NOT giving them what they DESERVE. Pointing out the fact he was insulting me, and couldn't spell the word was my way of going easy on him. He's in WAY over his head.

If it's a few errors, so be it, BUT, when you come on here trying to use words that far succeed your eduction level, you look like an idiot. Then these guys jumble sentences all together with big words, misspelled words, and improper placement and it begins to resemble the Chicago Bears messageboard.

I do it all the time, but its out of fun more than actually trying to be a teacher. I have very poor spelling and grammar. I used to be great at spelling in school! I don't know what happened,

So yea, I do it all the time for fun, but those who do it in a serious fashion I think its uncool.

Guess you could call me a hypocrite, but I know the truth.

i think some of us just have our own pet peeves regarding seeing certain spelling\grammar errors.

im not the best speller\grammar man, but when peope misuse "to" and "too" irritates me, but I guess thats a personal problem, like my herpes.

Well, I didn't read the post by Poofy the clown that you were referring to and I'm not referring to you personally. If someone said something personal about my family - in a purely non-humorous way, I would say something about their family back. You just gotta be witty.
But I don't condone ragging on somene's family. Personal jokes are fine with me, but family is off-limits. For all I know, your family might be Lions fans! And I think it's stupid to be serious and call someone a f@g or **** and actually be serious. Come on, the Schmitt's Gay video was hilarious. Obviously it was a SNL skit with Chris Farley and Adam Sandler, so how serious do you think I actually was? Just jokes.
But calling someone a homosexual is stupid also. And you guys were doing that for quite a while to us anti-Packers fans and I didn't stoop to that level; although I did insinuate that you have dementia. But again, I don't honestly think you wear a hockey helmet and ride the short bus with the big door.
And threatenting with physical violence is totally unacceptable and crass. That's the lowest form of low and that behavior is banned at every other semi-civilized message board I post at.

ok, now i'm confused, mineral. **** comments were made to YOU for quite awhile?? is that what you mean?? if so, you haven't even been on the site for "quite awhile" so i don't get it. if that's not what you mean, i apologize.

man you guys are sparring like crazy today!!

No, man... I didn't make any **** comments.
What I did do is refer to the Green Gay Packers or Fudgepackers and that's Schmitt's Gay Beer video.
As for the "quite a while" reference, I mean for about the first 20 or thirty posts that Pickles and I made.

Mineral.....trust me.......i can be witty. I just don't attack other people's families. So i didn't respond to the attack in the same way he did me. And i didn't call him a **** either.
As far as his family, maybe they would be as disgusted with his actions as i was, so why pick on them? HE made the post, they didn't. So i did not respond with an attack on his family. Instead, i pointed out his spelling error.
I said, i make plenty of spelling errors too. No one is perfect as far as that goes. I just chose that outlet instead of the attack i COULD have made on his family. So if some are offended by that, so be it. I made a choice i can live with.

    gotcha! thanks for the clarification!

the whole spelling issue drives me crazy!! i don't say much - unless it's AADP or zero - cause i like to pick on them alot!!

trolls who can't spell but claim to be people of infinite wisdom?? i LOVE to call those types out on spelling/grammar!!! but that's just me & i can be a tad on the evil side at times!! :)

Cheesey, that's actually a fairly mature attitude. Of course you do have about 100 years of maturity on the guy (j/k). But yeah, I'm starting to think that you're an OK dude. You fiercely love your team and with FAs and players constantly coming and leaving, it's a rare thing these days. In fact, anyone posting on NFL message boards right now is an intense football fan. So much respect to all keeping tabs on your team even in the most dull point in the year.
But a lot of people who follow their teams this closely are indeed homers. Not your average run-of-the-mill homers, but a good percentage of every team's fans predict 12-4, which is crazy because... Someone has to lose those games!
Some of you are decent guys, but when people who want to be mods make threats of a physical nature, it makes the entire board look ignorant. Come on, are you really going to fight someone because they don't like the Packers? I'm serious when I say that person has problems. No joke.

Yes, AADP also did. For some reason it really bothered me - maybe because I had respected AADP until that point. I have since let it go, because maybe he was having a bad day - dog died, got fired, whatever.

First.....Mineral.....thanks. I love my team, and of course HOPE they will do well. I don't KNOW if they will, i'm no fortune teller. And i respect those that show respect to me. You have seemed to do so for me, and i appreciate that. I would never litterally fight anyone over a sports game. Thats just foolish and childish. I don't appreciate it when people attack me as a person because i'm a Packer fan, or attack my family. Did the Packers suck last year? Well, they played hard and never gave up. The heart was there, they just couldn't get it done. I'm NOT a fair weather fan, and won't jump off the bandwagon just because they didn't do well last year. I'm an eternal optomist when it comes to the Pack. Of course the 1970's and 80's did that to me. And i respect fans of other teams that stay with their teams through the hard times. ANYONE can be a fan when their team is winning. It's a REAL fan that sticks around when things arn't so rosey. I don't mind smack, if a person has shown that they respect us and this site BEFORE they start throwing insults around. Big3, Packersacker, Philitration, 4th and 26, just to name a few, have come here and had good football talk with us, and then would throw some playful smack. But it didn't go over the line to attacking our families. Thats just plain rude to go to someone else's place and do that.
I can take it as well as dish it out, IF a person has shown me respect in the first place. If they don't then how can they expect it back?

Sacker.........like i said before, i chose to attack the spelling rather then the person's family. Like i believe 4packgirl said, those that come here and act like they are somehow more intellegent then us, of "infinite wisdom" i believe is how she put it, SHOULD be able to at least SPELL correctly. I never claimed to be better then them. They seem to suffer from a superiority complex, and want us to bow down to them. It won't happen.
They prove that in fact they are NOT better then ANYONE with the trashy comments they make towards regulars on this site. If they can't respect others on here, they should leave, period.

That's hilarious because moderators are supposed to be... MODERATORS! Moderators, moderation. hmmm. Instead of moderators controlling the boards, you guys should call them "instigators," instead.
Mr.Pickles came to our board and ripped on our team and was UNANIMOUSLY disliked, but nobody threatened the guy; am I right, Pickles? It's absurd to call yourself a mod and then physically threaten (no matter the degree of seriousness) a member unprovoked. And saying the Packers suck isn't sufficient provacation for beating someone up; unless you're in fifth grade or maybe if you haven't completed your eduction past the fifth grade. Perhaps you were home-schooled and were not allowed to interact with others on a social basis? Or maybe you're just hideous and your terrible looks prevented you from developing social skills in a normal setting? Either way, society has failed you both and I recommend seeking psychiatric help.
