    1. This whole game was a win-win for me. I hate the packers so seeing them lose is always good :D. If they win then its also good because I want the NFC Championship game to be played in the dome and I think the packers had a better chance to beat the saints then the cardinals did.
    2. You guys need a new kicker, he's missed quite a few fgs that would have won games for you, I especially remember the 52 yarder he missed last year against the vikings to win it.
    3. Rodgers is a beast, and if pisses me off that you guys had Favre for so many seasons and you turn around and have another awesome franchise qb. He's got a great future ahead of him and as a vikings fan, I would kill to have a young qb with his talent.
    4. It's kind of hypocritical for all of you to blame the refs for this one when you guys ripped vikings fans for blaming the refs for the crappy "tripping call" against the steelers and the non-call on the face mask against AP in overtime against the bears. Don't give crap to one fan base for blaming the refs then go and do the same thing when you think there was a bad call or non-call on your team.

Well I'm a Viking fan, too. And I as for #4, I logged on to see all the bitching and moaning about the missed call on the last play. But I actually only saw one douche bring it up so I want to congratulate you guys as a board and a fan base on the good season. That said, I'm ecstatic we made it further than you.

After reading through the game thread I retract this post. Some of those posts were the definition of pathetic, especially the ones who said that the facemask occurred before the ball game out. Its one thing to be a crybaby who can't accept the fact that his team did not play well enough over the course of the game to deserve a win - and the Cards may have deserved to win even less - but to fabricate like that is sickening.

I mean if we won 0 games in the playoffs and they won 0 games in the playoffs, did they really get further?

In what world does the team that sweeps the season series 2-0, wins the division, and exits in the second round of the playoffs not make it further than the team that lost those two games, comes in second place in the division, and exits in the first round of the playoffs?

Which team is still playing after the wild card round?

Pat brings up a really good point.
You lose you lose. Don't matter what you did.

    As for this:
    Who? Queens or Cruds?
If it's for the Viqueens, I'm not even sure if that applies since the Viqueens DIDN'T PLAY IN THE WILDCARD ROUND.

If it's for the Viqueens, I'm not even sure if that applies since the Viqueens DIDN'T PLAY IN THE WILDCARD ROUND.

That's because they didn't have to. The NFL playoff system is set up to reward teams who finish best in the regular season - which in the case of the Vikings just happened to include trouncing the Packers this season. Now please tell me how a team who lost in the second round didn't make it farther than the team who lost in the first round. And forget using the "they didn't have to play in the first round" argument because we both know that is just spinning the argument to save face. That team may not have gotten significantly further or earned their way further during the course of the playoffs but any way you look at it objectively they made it further. End of discussion.

You really aught to be talkkng nice to us. This is the same Cardinals team that handed your azz to you. We played them without key secondary personnel. You 'caught" us without our 3/4 fully lined up.
I promise you'd have been teary eyed to face the Packers a third time. BUt it's enough to know you will be eliminated in the next round.
One and done, same as us right?
We started earlier, but you'll get your lights kicked out by Dallas and you come here to vent because you know it's true.
Brent never has found a way to beat Dallas, we nearly shut them out with ARod this season.
Hahahaha, Brent was a double edged sword for you guys.
You guys will always hang your hats on this season on the Packers. You'll do nothing in the playoffs and you will know that the second half Packers are far better than your feeble attempt at the Big Show!
Come back after next week, I can't wait for Wisconsin Born Romo to kick your purple behinds.

I'm looking at it the way Pat is.
If the Vikes go 0-1 in the playoffs then they will have the same record as the Pack.
And that is what the majority will look at. Non of this bye week stuff, beat the Pack twice during the season etc etc.
So both with a 0-1 playoff record, means that both teams didn't get very far.
The furthest teams will be those who go to the SB regardless of when they had their playoff games.
To insist that the Viqueens "went further" is the wrong terminology. To say that they are the better team this year than the Pack would be correct.
Or if they win against Dallas. Then you can say they went further. But right now, it's too early to say that.

Being a Vikes fan do you really expect to win any arguments here on a Packers board?

I already know I've won the argument, you just will have more backup. :icon_biggrin:

The reality is that there is no way that anyone can really win the argument because we are arguing semantics. You can look at something one way and not be wrong but somebody else can look at the same thing the opposite way and not be wrong either.

All I know is that I'm a Viking fan living near the MN/WI border that is relieved after the first round of the playoffs that the Packers have been eliminated and my team is still in it. For the next week I don't have to worry about whether the Packers will advance further, not that I don't think we would beat you handily again in the dome, than the Vikings this year after what happened in the regular season. This close to the border and with friends and family that sport green and gold every Sunday there are certainly bragging rights for this. And if I can go for an entire week with the peace of mind that the Packers are finished and the Vikings are still alive and well (home field advantage in a place they are 8-0 this season), then to me your arguments are null and void. Good night. :happy0005:

Right, and we 'packer fans' are supposed to take personnel advice from Viking Fans? Now that's laughable. You guys are just jealous that our Oline playing through injuries is better than your Oline of Starters ha ha ha

    Vikes

NFC Central Champs again. That's in part because we beat the Packers twice this season, which is no easy feat. The rivalry is alive and well, and next year the Packers will have another chance to do better. I don't hate the Packers or their fans-I love our rivalry, which I consider one of the best in football.

We are lucky we have home field advantage in the playoffs-I would not want to be playing the Boys in Dallas. If the Packers were playing Dallas, I would be rooting on the Packers, cause I hate the Cowboys and I always cheer for our divisional teams. I know most Packers fans can't cheer for the Vikings, I don't know why, I don't really care. You guys had a great comeback season, and you will be a force to be reckoned with next year. Good game against the Cardinals, and Go Vikes!

What, like you wouldn't take Longwell back this instant if you had the chance. I'll believe that when me **** turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbet. And just think, you could still have Longwell if the Ho-dunk town of Green Bay had anything classier than an Applebees that he could take his wife to on their anniversary...

oh ok thats why it was moved here, i was gonna say, i didn't think i was talking smack with my post.

yes, the packers will definitely be a sb contender next year, assuming they can get some o-line help and keep rodgers healthy.

some good points here, but if you look at this completely objectively, then the vikings TECHNICALLY did make it farther than the packers. we made it to round 2, you guys were out in round one. So even if we lose, we technically got farther, because the second round is farther than the first, 2 is bigger than one. I know that we won't have done any better in the playoffs than you guys, but we still made it a round farther than you, and god knows if the packers and vikings had switched positions you would be all over us for the favre experiment being a failure and the packers making it a round further than us.

I honestly think the vikings can beat the cowboys, they are still the choke artists that we've all come to love (or hate), and they are still the team that pushed off in the playoffs to make my dad cry when he was 10 (LOL), and the only thing i'm worried about in this game is Brad Childress' ability to make in game adjustments. He is terrible at it and I hope he realizes that if mckinnie or loadholt is getting beat on every play, FOR GODS SAKE DONT BENCH HIM, JUST GIVE HIM SOME EXTRA T.E. HELP!!!

Good season for the packers, but the truth is, Vikings are alive and the packers arent.

The Vikings won the Division. We didn't make past wild card round. End of story.

Now, I will say, if you don't go at least to the NFCC game, it'll be a failure. Maybe if you don't go to the SB it'll be a failure.

Why I say that? Future. You didn't spend 10 milion on a 40 year old qb because of jersey sales. If he doesn't win the SB, he probably won't come back. Then what? Tarvaris Jackson? You have a very well rounded team, but without at least a very good QB, there's no way you can win this division next year, considering the youth and the quality of our team...
