So who showed a better defense today, GBO or NYG?

OK, GB homers, now you're a step closer to getting sent home by the Giants. So, you thought the Cowboys were going to stop us? Are you that lacking in football knowledge?

Let's see, what did today in the NFL show?

    1. Detroit's defense sucks -- or is Matt Flynn another hall of famer? Ha ha!
    2. Packer's defense simply sucks -- about 40 points to both NYG and to Detroit, what a way to get ready for the playoffs -- but you're unbeatable, I know!
    3. NYG defense is looking like it's ready to kick some you know what -- we'll see next week.
    4. Cowboys secondary may be the worst in football.
    5. Giants receivers may be better than the Packers.

    Have fun, GB homers!

Packers D does not suck. They are not what they were last year but they certainly do not suck. As for your Giants D, keep in mind you will be going against one of if not the best offenses in the league in the Packers. You'd better pray your D decides to show up and show up big, especially if the inconsistency of Eli and your offensive line decides to have an off day. I think our D can handle Eli and your offense, but the real question is, can your D handle us?

With that being said, I will give the Giants their due this year. They have played well and Eli is playing at the top of his game. They managed to make it to the playoffs and will certainly be more of a threat than the Cowboys or Eagles would of been. Thank those Giants for me for causing the Eagles and Cowboys to get eliminated. Give them lots of kisses. I think the Giants will win the wildcard round, but your first concern should be the 1st round, not the Packers just yet. You have to get to them and let me assure you, they will be ready and waiting with plenty of time to study up on film whoever they are going to face first.

Good luck to your Giants and perhaps we shall meet again. :)

Yes, I believe we shall meet again soon -- in the game of the year.

But I must suggest that your defense certainly is giving up points like a sieve, isn't it?

Yes, they are giving up a lot of points as well as passing yards and you will find an abundance of threads on that topic on this very forum, but the thing to remember is we are still winning games. We are sitting on 15-1, with a 1st round bye and home field advantage with those defensive stats. Meanwhile the Giants struggled just to make a wildcard. If you are talking about a Packers Vs Giants matchup and talking defense, I think you are looking in the wrong direction. That game would go to the offense, much like the Packers Vs Saints only Eli is no Brees.

Wrong again on all counts. First, NYG are division champions (get your facts straight before you type). Second, NFL history suggests that a strong defense will beat a strong offense in most playoff games -- e.g, see 2007 -2008 Super Bowl NYG vs NE. And this NYG defense has MORE talent than that one did. Based on the NYG v Packers game -- next game is pick'em, unless you're a delusional Packer fan who ignores reality -- no running game, mediocre defense at best. Who is peaking now, GB or NYG?

your giants are no joke. But lets see how they fare in the playoffs first. They sure seem primed for a run though

    Be quiet child.

You lost to Vince Young and Rex Grossman twice. You lost to freaking Seattle. Note. YOU LOST TO VINCE YOUNG. That alone should make you ashamed. Vince Young might be the dumbest QB in the league by far.

The NFC East is a joke and I couldn't care less how tough a game the Giants gave the Packers this year. Who won the game bitch and which QB showed up the other. Was it Rodgers or lesser Manning. The fact this Giants/Cowboys game got so hyped up is hilarious. The Eagles have looked like the best team in the East the last several weeks but did not gel in time to make the playoffs. If the Jets beat the Giants and actually had a QB worth a damn then idiot Giants fans like yourself are not even talking right now.

People from NY make people from Boston look smart for Gods sakes. Giants/Jets fans. Yankees/Knicks fans. Painful ****.

If you face the Packers your D is going to get destroyed. Eli will have his signature WTF moment at one point. You may hang in there but if you think you can repeat 2007 think again.

Go ahead son. Talk trash to me the next few weeks alllllllll you want. I have plenty of experience with New Yorkers so I can give even more then you can dish it out.

    http://www.nfl.com/stats/categoryst...efensiveStatisticCategory=null&qualified=true

that says Giants 32nd in rushing---Packers 26th..So if we have no running game, for sure you dont

How would a next GB Giant game be a pick em?? that makes no sense at all

We blew out a divisional opp (Bears) then beat another div opp with a back up q/b, missing our top wr, missing two pro bowl D players, and played LB and DL that havent played in a long time....

You guys lost to Washington then beat the Jets and a Dallas team with Romo hurting...

    How is that peaking?????

While I'm at it, Greenblood, I'll issue you the same warning I issued NYG. Refrain from name calling and personal attacks. There is no reason to take it there and ruin a perfectly good thread.

NYG, my apologies, I didn't see this post.

Ahh yes, another genius who thinks yards somehow equals points and is the only measurable to be considered when comparing two teams defenses.

Let's compare the Packers defense to this supposed defensive juggernaut that is the New York Giants, shall we?

    Points allowed:
    Packers: 19th, 22.4 points allowed
    Giants: 25, 25 points allowed

    Total Yards allowed:
    Packers: 32, 411.6
    Giants: 27, 376.4

    Passing yards allowed:
    Packers: 32, 299.8
    Giants: 29, 255.1

    Rushing yards allowed:
    Packers: 14, 111.8
    Giants: 19, 121.2

Wow, sure look like the Giants are SO MUCH BETTER on the defensive side of the ball than the Packers.

Face it, genius, other than sacks (Where the Giants are absolutely dominant over the Packers,) these two teams are pretty similar in terms of overall production. While the Giants are a tough team, they aren't heads and shoulders above the Packers.

The Packers are a +24 in turnovers while the Giants are +7. Packers 31-20 lead in interceptions. Packers are 10th in opposing passer rating to the Giants 20th. 80.6 to 86.1

Seems sorta meant to be. NYG and NEPatriots. I bet they are twins stuck in NYC and chose different eastern teams. How cute.
