I agree with you, This superbowl is not exciting for me. I might just watch it out of tradition and to eat some of my homemade Wings..:)...

Shrimp-n-beer sounds nice though but you gotta add cocktail sauce, I love Cocktail sauce.

I meant after that starting in '64.....that's when each season was one disaster after another.....You're right about the years before that starting in '56 to '63......but they only one once...............I'm a Yankee fan too and getting to the WS 6x & only winning once doesn't cut it for the Yankee organization.......nobody cares who finishes 2nd......unless you were the Yankee org and you finished 2nd.....GB & the Yanks were very similar orgs......Was Vince happy if they lost championships?

Follow the recipe of the back Frank's Hot Sauce bottle. Deep fry. Best wings you'll ever have. IMHO.

He only ever lost one. His first one. Then he went on to amass the highest postseason winning percentage of any coach in NFL history.

Lombardi claimed he was misquoted in that phrase. It's a phrase borrowed from some other sports coach. I believe he did say; "That's the last time that will ever happen to us" regarding the loss. If you read much about Lombardi you will find that he was far from a "win at all costs" coach. He valued personal character above winning. He always wanted to win, as does anyone. However, he was more concerned with the right attitude. He regularly offered to trade even his veterans if they didn't have the team's interests at heart. One book I read had several former players saying that Lombardi would tell them; "Which team do you want to go to? Just tell me and I'll give them a call" when those players expressed dissatisfaction.

Agreed. I won't be watching, as it is not possible for both teams to LOSE.

I like this ... I plan on stealing and using it and have no immediate plans to pay royalties and hate "attribution" with a nuclear passion. So...thank you in advance.

As the old saying goes: "Good writers borrow from other writers. GREAT writers STEAL." Heh heh heh

I believe you're correct, Croak. I'm paraphrasing and can't recall who or where I got this from - I read that he said that "Winning isn't everything. The WILL to win is..." or something to that effect. I do recall that Lombardi never claimed to have said "Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing"...the thing just kind of snowballed.

OK, Packer fans -- you lost to the eventual Super Bowl Champs -- still think it was a fluke?

Oh yeah -- let's see, NYG beat Jets, Dallas, Atlanta, Green Bay, SF and Patriots -- sure, must have been a fluke.

Packers were overrated from day 1 this year. And the NYG are now champs!

And they also lost to Washington, Seattle, New Orleans, and Green Bay while they barely squeaked by Buffalo, Arizona and Miami. They weren't a better team this year than Green Bay. They were just better for one day in which a perfect storm of unfortunate events blew up for the Packers.

Keep on dreaming . . . you had no defense, not much of a running game -- and NYG almost beat you twice. Wake up.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it. Besides, I had to endure Giant fans telling me that the Packers were the weakest team to ever win a Super Bowl because they were the sixth seed. What goes around comes around.

Give it up, Croak. This guy needs to cut the chord. He's obviously a Packers fan because he can't stay out of the Packers forum. It's over, NYG. We're moving on without you. NYG <hearts> Packers

It is March, free agency is about to start and we have Giant fans still pounding their chests?

Must be pretty boring up in NY right now?
