    It's that majical word "COULD."
I lived with smoking parents, and i made it past age 5.
The FACTS are, it IS bad for a child to live in smoke. But whether it will cause all kids to die any earlier can't really be proven.
In a perfect world, no one would smoke.
No one would drink too much.
People would respect others property and not commit crimes against others.
I wish all these things would come true.
Also, look at how many obese kids there are today. Most of them spend their free time on the computer, playing video games, or on the cell phone. Back when i was a kid, we played outside every day. We rode our bikes, played football and basketball, and other stuff like that. I hardly see ANY kids playing like that anymore. And my Mom cooked meals everyday. It wasn't the "fast food" and junk food that you see today. If they REALLY want to help kids be healthy, they need to take away all this junk, and make them go out and play! I wonder how many years are being taken off kids lives because of their lifestyles today?

not that you bother reading what anybody else with a differing opinion writes, but what i'm saying is enjoy your life.

do you realize how many times "the experts" have flip-flopped on whether red meat is good for you? or eggs? or chicken? or wine?

you know what the answer is?

if you want some red meat, eat some red meat.

you like eggs? by god, have some fricking eggs.

you like a glass of wine or beer with your dinner? heres a concept...pour yourself one.

guess what i'm gonna do? i'm gonna be smoking cigarettes the whole damn time...like tobacco plants are going extinct...like everytime i light one up i get a prize. and when i feel concerned and determined enough to stop, guess what i'll do then :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

thats interesting...smoking causes SIDS now? what about the SIDS that happens in non-smoking households?

by the way i'm not denying smoking is bad for you in anyway. or that second hand smoke can be harmful to kids.

I used to smoke and now I have been smoke free for many years. The time I miss it the most is after some good sex. A smoke after sweaty sex is the best.

Thank you Arrow for all the taxes you pay, the forfiture of your personal liberties, and entry into second class citizenship.

If you ever go to Davis, CA you will be permitted to smoke in your vehicle(if it is moving) and a private residence. However, there is a loophole. The "homeless" are permitted to smoke in the great outdoors. Just claim to be homeless.

I've been in California so long it is a real suprise to travel and see people who can still smoke in bars and casinos. Of course I'm so old I remember tobacco commercials on television, my barber smoking while cutting my hair and when Joe Camel was a legal cartoon figure.

I like the Winston ad that says "Even Communists are free to smoke."

Remember chewing tobacco is in the vegetable part of the food pyramid and part of a balanced diet.

GOOD for you gopack!!! I am disabled, but have been working out for almost 2 years now. I TRY to keep in the best health i can, within my limatations. It's good to hear there are still some young people that go out and enjoy life. It's hard to do that if you never go out and enjoy the outdoors.

What is the one element found in approximately half the U.S. highway fatalities? This question has been raised over the last few decades and the answer is still the same: alchohal.

drunk driving is difficult for me to talk about - i lost my 41 year old cousin, just over a year ago. it was the middle of the day, on a 4 lane highway, she was just coming home from a day of shopping when out of nowhere, some drunk & erratic driver came barreling down the road. she rolled her vehicle & was killed instantly. the drunk or drugged driver fled the scene & has never been caught.

It's sadly true............lots of deaths by alcohol. I think just about everyone knows someone injured or killed by it. Cancer too......lots of it in my family, and my wife's too. Was it all caused by cigarettes? I don't think so, but some of it was.

Yup gopack.......it's when people lose common sense, and drive when they shouldn't. My wife's cousin was killed by a drunk driver. She was driving a motorcycle, and was hit by a station wagon. Didn't stand a chance.

    Who won World War II?

    The smokers-Roosevelt, Churchill, Stalin

    or

The non-smokers- The Emperor, Der Furher, El Duce

    Smoking was a key factor.
