Reason I brought this thread back is that OBF has created a thread to stop the bashing...Thats okay for them as it is Bretts site and looks bad on him..

But here we are not tied to a future HOF player so bash away lol

There are some people out there who would give Jesus Himself beef for replacing Favre. Some view his legacy as iconic, epic. The way I look at it is: past, present and future. Favre is past, Rogers represents present and future. I will always honour Favre for the years of dedication he put into this team, from the glory of the Superbowl, and even when it ended in bitter disappointment. His legacy is ingrained deeply in the history of the team. That being said, we must move on. Yesterday is dead and gone and tomorrow is just a touchdown away. I see great potential in Rogers, and personally I'd rather have him at the helm right now than Favre. I like how Rogers is not trying to "fill Favre's shoes", he is his own man and I give him a great deal of respect for coming into GB and stepping up. As for the Viking's fans, I cannot deny them their hope. They are as passionate about their team as we are ours. I don't think much of some of their fans but then again every fan base has their share of bad apples. I can tell you for a known fact that Eagle's fans are some of the worst I've ever seen. But the thing that unites us all, that runs rampant through all of our bloods, is the very thing that brings us out every Sunday, undeniable passion for the game of football. Whether it be Favre or Rogers, we stand united in that respect. But when we meet on the football field, it's war. So to the Vikings, good luck with Favre and word of advice, when he says he is going to retire, don't believe him! To my Pack, we got the present and future baby! I wish both QBs my best and may the best team prevail (and may it be the Packers)!

To stop the bashing where, at OBF? Or everywhere?

They can moderate their website any way they want, but there's no way they'll be able to silence all the critics.

Wonder how they are going to defend 4 turnovers?

Bert is done, he doesn't want to be there.

    Yeah to busy spying here...

They didnt like my posting the comment of someone wanting to hit Rodgers with a 2X4 said that person was "joking" Well no **** eh?

On Bretts site its okay to call Rodgers names, like twinkle toes, Erin, or Ted has let Rodgers off his lesh...Fun teasing sometimes it is funny....

But then have a poster (someone names ffan??)with the balls to say NO ONE IS BASHING RODGERS.

Ever since a poster said they wanted to picket my house for speaking the truth about Brett( straight up facts, stats or quotes) I love sticking it to them

Matt Flynn is a NCAA National Championship winning QB...Chokon Rodgers isn't...and Chokon Rodgers doesn't have what it takes to win big games, and didn't in college either. Obvious Flynn had it in college, as did Harrell as is evidenced by him beating UT...so yeah we'd be better with big game QBs than Chokon Rodgers as our starter.

    You're serious?

You think we'd be better off with Matt Flynn, who QB'd a 2-loss, loaded on defense LSU team in 2007 that needed a miracle to get to the BCS Championship in the first place, than with a QB who threw for 33 TD's and 7 picks in a season on the PRO LEVEL and led his team to 11-5 last year?

I can't believe you call yourself "real" packerbacker when you're so clearly just another troll looking to stir up trouble. You're not a real packer backer. You're an attention deprived troll who gets his kicks out of making outrageous statements on an internet message board just to cause trouble. Frankly, it's sad.

ok we get you don't like Rodgers, but this is not college this is the NFL alot of college super stars have been busts in the NFL and alot of non drafted rookies have became stars in the NFL. What I'm saying is Aaron is a good qb he isn't getting the time in the pocket that he should be getting soni think he's very hesitant right now. For you to call him a choke already is kinda crazy. Don't let your personal hatred for Aaron or the packer organization get in the way of aarons talent.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, the formula "Good in college league = Good in pro league" doesn't generally apply in real life. Go look up Driver's life story, perfect example, really a nobody to crazy good. Or, look at Vince Young and back at Rodgers and thank the Lord we didn't get stuck with a hazbin like that. I personally think we have much bigger issues, such as running backs, which should be discussed long, long before even beginning to hint at thinking of possibly finding a reason to maybe replace Rodgers.

I don't think panicing is in order. We are in a hurt division right now, though the Vikings look kinda scary at the moment, and we are already starting to see which of our 2nd and 3rds are there to play and which ones are there for an easy pay check. I think what I'll be watching closest is management and coaching for how/if they adapt or change the game plan for the new personnel; I believe this will be what makes or breaks us.

I don't get how Rodgers choked..

He put the Packers in a position to win with that 35 yard pass to Quarless.

    Crosby just missed the FG.

    Get real man..

You wanna be real? Favre is no longer a Packer, he is a Viking, like it or not, that is real. Aaron Rogers is the future (QB) of the Packers. It may curdle your blood, but that is real. If you want to be a Favre fan and not so much a Packer fan, then follow him all the way to the Vikings and set up camp there. I became a Packer fan in a similar manner. I followed Reggie White from the Eagles to the Packers and discovered along the way that I love the Packers much more. You have to decide what is right in your heart because a part of you may still love your Favreless Packers very much. In that way I understand some of the Favre people and where they are coming from. It's hard to be torn. Seek the truth, just hope you can handle it when you find it!

The first sentence of your post is why we've been in DEEP **** since July of '08. Aaron is the QB of the future in GB. Get used to Sunday boys and girls...repeat performances On Demand all career long from Mr. Rodgers.

OK Jess...and if you want to talk record...which YOU DON'T what'd Aaron do in his first FULL year as a starter? And what did the previous QB do in his first FULL year as a starter. Oh yeah Brett didn't start 16 games in '92 and still WON as many as Aaron lost in his first full year.

Aaron has already had as many losing seasons as Brett has in what 19 years? One more and he'll PASS Favre. Yeah he's a GREAT QB...one of the ELITE...can't win a game from behind...on his way to his 2nd losing season in 3 years...Mr. Quarterback himself Aaron Rodgers!

And BTW to Mr. Stylez...I'm a guy and can spell properly, I think you need to read the thread on the main page about personal attacks when you call me 'she'.

So, you're just dismissing my whole argument, which was that college success means NOTHING in the pros? Because you argued for Flynn, I pointed out he wasn't even that good in college, and then you ignored it.

And you're just dismissing that Aaron QB'd an 11-5 team last year while having a better season stats-wise than Favre ever had in his time in GB?

And you're right. Comparing what Favre did in 1992 with what Rodgers did in 2008 makes sense. Because both teams had the exact same players around the QB and nothing had changed in the NFL in that 16 year gap.

Care to comment on my elite quarterback comment? Or hasn't Chokon given you any bullets for that one yet?

HE HAD A BETTER YEAR LAST YEAR THAN FAVRE EVER HAD AS A PACKER!

We all would've considered Favre an elite QB when he was in his prime in Green Bay. And Rodgers had a better year statistically than Favre did. Even when he was winning MVP's. And Rodgers led his team to an 11-5 record and then watched his defense melt down in the Playoffs.

What else does he have to do? Oh, I know, win a Super Bowl, right? Which is a totally reasonable barometer for a guy who has 2 years of starting experience. How long did it take Peyton Manning to win one? Or Favre?

Well in his defense, because Super Bowls are the only measurement of QB success, Favre does have TONS of Super Bowl rings, I mean the guys been playing for so long and hasn't missed a game, surely he has the most. Here, Ill go check...

    ....

    ...
    ...

Oh wait, he only has 1. Though The team he won it with was way worse than last years Vikings team...

Aaron has to win it this year to even be in Favre's league though you DO realize that. Count the number of years in the league.

If the Packers win a superbowl within 2 years will you actually be in favor of Rodgers? I don't get it, why be so pessimistic?
