As good a QB as Favre was & he was very good. After all he did play in 297 straight games & brought home the Lombardi trophy. In my fantasy football teams I might've used him in 2-3 games as he did throw alot of INTs. Now that Rodgers is our QB he's the first QB I draft if he's available. Which has been the last couple years. Overall I'd pick Rodgers over Favre

Is there anybody that actually honest-to-god still believes we should have went with Brett over Aaron? After everything?

I hate to call a lot of you fans out on this but a lot of you have to be hypocrites. You hated Aaron when he first came. You either wanted him Ted and Mike ran out of town or sacrificed at a witch burning. Those three guys were held with as much regard in Wisconsin for about a year as what comes out of the cows around here. And I'm not accusing anyone personally on here, because this all happened long before I joined. But still. Really enforces the idea to keep an open mind.

I`ll never choose Favre over Rodgers. Rodgers is about Green Bay, Favre will always be about Favre. He insulted the franchise, he insulted the fans and I will always hate him for that.

But not supporting the team and fans that supported him for almost 2 decades.

Reasons like this are why he will get boo'ed at Lambeau

If I'd have had to sit through that ****-storm he got I'd be a bit bitter too. I think it is ridiculous for you to be able to find fault with him supporting a personal friend.

Why, or how that little blurb got reported is beyond me and I hate that "news reporting" hes become so invasive. There is no reason that anyone needed to read about a personal correspondence between friends.

Yup he was mad when he got told that we were tired of his my-s***-don't-stink attitude he formed near the end of his time in Green Bay. He probably also felt a little hurt when we told him basically that "the future is now" when I thought he still had a few good years left in him. That's a very human response and I find no fault with him for that.

This discussion between Favre v. Rodgers is clearly not over. You have to also factor in that Rodgers is living in the era of football where WR's can barely touch and DB's can't do much about. It was much harder to pass in the mid 90's - early 2000's.

Much of Aaron Rodgers numbers are inflated due to the changes in the NFL rules.

So when the Bears beat the Vikings and Brett told Peppers go beat the Packers-- that was okay too? Was no friend supporting another friend..

Wow; I was done with talking about this weeks ago, but I guess in the off-season boredom ya gotta dredge up conversations that were already over. ... As I recall; I was commenting about Longwell's and Favre's relationship. Your little interjection is contextually irrelevant to what I was saying. To respond though I will just say that I don't care. I stopped caring about Favre the moment he stopped being paid to wear the Green and Gold. Furthermore I say to the entire fan base, on the subject of Favre, grow up. It is absolutely ridiculous that fans essentially expect verbal rim jobs from a player who didn't even retire a Packer. Let alone that people expect that of him when they in turn respond venomously to anything reported about the man when it surfaces.

I asked a simple question...As it wasnt a friend per say as Longewell was...I GET his support of Ryan, it is a CLOSE friend and he prob doesnt have close friends like that on the Packers..

I just wanted your opinion on his comment to Peppers..

No need to get all upset.....sorry

Na, I should be the one saying sorry. I'm not used to other people having a level-headed view point on Favre and/ or his post-career antics. I wasn't really mad either, just exasperated/ irritated with where I thought you were going with your comment. Plus iov610's response to my OP in this thread probably helped to color your comment in a light that it wasn't intended for.

I don't really care about the Peppers bit either mostly because he wasn't playing for the Packers at the time. I remember it irking me a bit when it happened because it seemed a bit spiteful and childish, but then I just laughed at the idea of Da Bears actually being able to pull that off.

Whether or not we may like or not like Favre ... - I do think he WILL be honered (eventually) and the number retired ... regardless of what people here write and think ...

Like or dislike ... no one can ignore what Favre brought to Green Bay ...

I completely disagree with this take. His indecision(s) about retiring should not cloud our overall perspective of how much he meant to this organization. We were afterthoughts until Favre arrived in town. Because of him, we became a perennial playoff team and won a SB. He was the first 3-time MVP winner and best player in the league for a while. Yes, the end of his run was filled with heartbreak - but at least he had the decency to deliver the same heartbreak to the Vikings for us! ;)

In all seriousness, I'm not a huge Favre guy anymore because he turned into a huge egomaniac and put himself above the team. But, to TT's credit, he summarily cut him upon his "triumphant return" from retirement because he knew he wasn't worth it. Favre has a right to play on afterwards. His snide remarks are childish, no doubt; but those shouldn't destroy the relationship.

When the timing is right, he absolutely should have his number retired. He was a great player for this organization for a long time, setting multiple NFL records in the process. It'd be a shame to see that chapter in our history not properly honored.

Oh it wasnt his indecisions or his time with the jets that fuels by disdain for him. It was his attempt at doing everything he could to enact revenge against the Packers. Calling the Lions up to offer everything he knows about Packers offense is so bush league its not something that should be forgiven. The contant barbs at the Packers got old real quick, I see no reason to extend an olive branch to the monkey that throws poop.

Maybe if Brett had sent TT a picture of his penis, assuming as the "We love Brett for ever and ever" club are right about him, he`d have finished his career at Green Bay ???
Oh yeah........the bleating "Will I retire, or will I stay ?" bullshit had no influence at all.
