Sorry, he doesn't have ANY right to blame anyone. A leader takes all upon himself, and CERTAINLY DON'T PUBLICLY BLAME OTHERS, RIGHT OR NOT!

There're real reasons, after 20 seasons, that Favre doesn't have more than one ring, despite all of his talent. His leadership skills is one of them.

First off, The Vikes had a VERY VERY good team last year, and still do! Favre had better numbers last year at 40 years old than ANY year with GB, and ONLY 7 INT. So, Favre was better last year with the Vikes than in 96-97 with the Pack. Also, Chmura better than Shaincoe? Umm...their numbers (per game started) is very close in comparison, Chmura has 600 yds more or so, but Shaincoe has more TD's by 6 or something like that over the years. Shaincoe has better hands, is faster, ****** is MUCH better as a person and player in my book PERIOD! Reggie White? Yeah, not many people can touch him, but JARED ALLEN is a beast and probably the best D end since White IMO, if not very close to it according to most people that know football. In Jared's first 88 games started he has 336 total combines tackles and 72 sacks. Reggie with the 6 seasons with the Pack (96 games) had 73 1/2 sacks, but with 8 more games played, so according to "sack count" per game ratio, Allen had 0.82 sacks per game, compared to Whites 0.76 sacks per game meaning Allen has better numbers pertaining to sacks (with the amount of games Allen has played thus far that is). Your best WR in 1996-1997 was Antonio Freeman with 12 TD's and 1250 yards, now you take Sidney Rice from last year he had more yards with 1312, but only 8 TD's. I would give you a better WR core because of Robert Brooks (who also had great numbers), but remember that it's not always the best team on paper!

How many rings did Favre win 96-97
How many rings did Favre win with the Vikes last year?

    You are full of it!

Really!? Ok, or maybe its from the lack of talent around him in GB no? Offense and defense combined the Packers had more years of mediocrisy with Favre compared to years of SB contending talent, but no way you or any FAVRE hater could admit that fact huh? Absolutely not, it's all about Favre's selfish attitude that turned his various record breaking numbers into worthless NFL seasons instead. Selfish? How can a QB be selfish? Especially with ALL the NFL players who have played with FAVRE (minus the crap Jets of course) and stated how GREAT of a teammate he is! Sharper, Longwell, Levens, White, Sharpe, and the list goes on to no end dude....

Favre doesn't hasn't broken the all-time passing yards, TD's, INT, etc by being selfish, that doesn't even make sense, in all reality a SELFISH QB would try to run the ball all the time or something. In my opinion, there is no such thing as a selfish QB in the game of football, plain and simple. The facts around you (minus the whole few years of Favre VS the Packers mgmt) proves nothing but the opposite of what you are saying, and that is BF is one hell of a teammate and competitor, LIVE WITH IT!

Oh really, so SB rings determine a good QB from a bad one? Ok, so Marino wasn't good? That is a ridiculous comparison, saying that the SB is what made Favre a better QB in 96-97 versus last year, I am talking about the positional stats, not the TEAMS accomplishments my friend. So, once you look at the yards, td's, to INT numbers, then add in the age of him while doing so, Favre had a statistically better year with the Vikes compared to with the Packers; however, GB had a better year because of the superbowl, get it?

I forgot to mention, you say us Vikings fans are pissed because of all the losing years? Well, since 1968 the Vikes have made the playoffs 26 times, and the Packers only 14. SO, in the long run US Viking fans have had more exciting seasons versus you Packer fans (minus your one SB year of course), so you take the 1996-97 season away and you are left with 25 Viking playoff seasons, and 13 for your GB team. In the end, I would say that OVERALL Viking fans have had MUCH MORE to cheer for during the last 42 years wouldn't you say? Actually, almost TWICE as many seasons at that......do your research next time

It's all well and good making the playoffs 26 times, but what have you got to show for it?

    Exactly.

And Brett led his team to defeat and Rodgers led his team to victory this past weekend.

I was a very big Favre fan as he was a Green Bay Packer. I hate the recent Vikings and thus when Favre went there, he became a huge enemy of the Packers.

Just as I applauded EVERY play Favre made and defended him, I now criticize him and his play. BECAUSE he is on a different team. Especially the team that has become the most hated one.

I am positive if Randy Moss would have defected to the Pack and lit up the board, some Vike fans would cheer against him as well.

Don't forget, Packers won many a championships and had a great fan base before Favre ever came along. Stop to think that may be if he had gone to the Bears, it would be just as bad or worse.

Ya gotta love the hockey guy from Minn. I think he's taken too many pucks to the head.

    Packers: 6 Championships since 1961
    Vikings: 0 Championships since 1961
Packers: 6 Championships prior to 1961
Minneapolis Marines: 0 Championships in their 6 years in the NFL from 1921 to 1930.
    Duluth Kelleys/ Eskimos: 0 Championships 1923-27

So, actually it has been 61 years of NFL football without a Championship for the lads from Minnesota. Amazing.

But the Eskimos did have the great Johnny Blood for 2 seasons.

Minnesota might have gotten to more playoffs, but nobody really cares unless you win a championship. Like so many people say, The losers of the SB are forgotten by history. A footnote.

Green bay was HORRIBLE for about 35-30 years, so that makes sense the Vikings would have gotten up on us in playoff games. But, I'll take our 96 SB win any day over a ton of playoff appearances. That's just me.

Yet it wasn't until he became a Packer did he win a championship in the Pro's :)

No matter how you may dirty it up a championship is a championship, which puts you the winner of the winners.

We treated Favre very well for years, but it turns out he left us, now faced with the decision of team or one guy, if you are a fan you go with the team. And now that A-Rod is our leader we follow him, and truth of the matter is Brett wasn't too nice to Aaron, and now that Aaron has made something of himself he can talk a little smack.

I think it might be reaching to claim that A-Rod slammed Fart in the post game conference.
All he did was say how it really was by not mentioniong him which is different than just coming out with direct name calling or saying how it really was with intentions of anger and bitterness behind it.

I thought Brett also wouldn't fly on the Jet's charter to games, but instead flew in his own private charter. That and having his own shower/locker room at Lambeau. That kind of disturbed be even when he was still a Packer. Didn't seem like he was trying to be one of the guys when you got your own shower and locker room. And then on your next team you won't even fly with em.

I know you said a lot in your post that I didn't address, but honestly, I'm too tired and that post was loooonnggg.

Hell, would you fly on a charter full of loud mouthed athletes, or in your own private charter? Come on, I wouldn't think twice, most athletes are arrogant assholes, plain and simple. And, if flying to games determines your character, there is some anal concerns that should be looked into. BF had some injury issues in NY, but in no way, shape, or form should flying in a separate plane hinder your playing ability on the field, and in reality that's all that matters if you ask me.

In regards to the showering thing, if not showering with other men makes you not a "team player", well then I guess I would rather not be a "team player" either. Showering with other men shouldn't be ANY PLAYER'S highlight in being "one of the boys", not unless you like to play slap-*** or enjoy being part of "reach-arounds", LOL! Anyway, Those things are honestly petty, and if teammates are concerned about a naked man not showering with them, or spending a few hours ONCE a week flying in a plane (where most people relax anyway, not go over strategies), well then I would think that someone is a bit too anal, but I cannot see those two minor things being a part of how someone is a POOR teammate, come on.....

Well, that's a pretty disgusting thought and probably kept in the smack area. That has nothing to do with the reason I was disturbed by his private shower/plane. It sends a signal to the team that "I'm better than the rest of you!" and I think that's a bad message to send to guys your going to have to relay on. I think teammates have to have some loyalty to each other, and if the only time you see your QB is when he's on the field....there is no team there. It's Farve and the rest of them. And why the Jet players probably turned on him when they found out he threw their playoff shot away to simply continue his consecutive starts record.

Leadership isn't about winning games. It's also has a lot to do with how you handle yourself and your actions off the field. Farve screwed up in NY and lost the team. Maybe he's trying to be different in Minnesota. Seems to be engaged there at least and he definitely seemed disengaged in Green Bay the last few years.

The reason many Packer fans have turned on him isn't only because he became a division rival. It began with repeated playoff losses from a throw to the other team. Then it was exacerbated by the, yes selfish, holding the team hostage every year with the "retirement/unretirement" saga. I think when he had signed a lifetime contract with the Packers and then said the very first time; "I don't have anything more to give to the game", then reneged on that after the team started making other plans, then did it again, and again, fans got tired and angry. When he signed the "lifetime" contract, he said he couldn't see himself playing for any other team. He said if it came to that he would just retire. He didn't retire, he wanted to go to the Vikings. Well, fans didn't take that well and many still don't.

Even though our society doesn't put as much stock in it anymore; many people still expect a man to be a man of his word. When he is perceived as breaking his word, he isn't respected as much.

    Meh....

I can understand that a man "should" keep his word, but football is a business, and even the greatest greats (both in Packer history and other teams histories) have proven to show people leave their respected teams toward the end of their career. Did Jerry Rice or Joe Montana ever see themselves leaving SF? Nope. They thought they were lifers with the 49'ers. Does Favre have the "retirement" predicament going against him while comparing his situation to those guys like Rice or Montana? Sure, but everyone is different in mind and/or heart, and why shouldn't they be with a physical sport like football? They have families, feelings, etc just like virtually every other human being, so whats the big deal?

So the guy changed his mind numerous times as he got old? Who hasn't? I don't think the retirement BS helped his case, but a few bad choices/decisions shouldn't justify someones career, respect, passion, honor, etc, that would be selfish to do so. It's funny how selfish BF is in terms of leaving the packers, going against his word, etc, but what about the decisions the Packer's organization made during that time? It's almost as if the organization (because it's the TEAM), has higher standard than BF automatically? It shouldn't be that way, each player should be able to do whats best for him "FIRST", then comes the team, that's human nature if you ask me! Just like a police officer, if you can't protect yourself going into a bank that is being robbed, how the hell are you going to be able to protect everyone else in the bank (aka do your job)? Everyone has some sort of selfishness included in their personality, do you think Rodgers would take a contract with the Vikes for 10 million, or the Packers for 5 million? I mean, his family, house, life, teammates are in GB, but the man has to do whats best for him and his interests in the end...get it?

Go and re-read how the Vik players went to him on the plane when they lost to the Saints..So YOUR claim he doesnt fly with the team is wrong

Some think when you say I "THOUGHT" means you saying it as 100% true and then assumes ALL Packer fans feel that way..

But instead they like to dispute your claim on other forums instead disputing here

I thought he didn't fly with the jets players, I didn't mean that about the Vikings. I read that in a newspaper article in the Dallas Morning News at the time all the jet's players were bashing him. My dad and I even discussed it. But, if that was wrong it's wrong. My bad.

Well thats different then saying he never flew isnt it?

Maybe it was a one time thing like going home for something and didnt get on the plane?

I personally dont think its an issue myself...

As far as the shower thing? I believe Sherman wanted him to do that to avoid the huge crowd at his locker..and that makes perfect sense..Sherman even had them make a separate place when they re-did the locker room

Boy have we heard this before. That "should" is a big word. So he "should" keep his word unless it's not convenient or it's bad for his bottom line? Then keeping one's word doesn't really matter. Like I said; society today generally rejects standard ethics for relative morality. However, in the back of their mind or in their heart of hearts, most people have a higher standard within themselves regarding someone's word.

Not only did he "seem" untrustworthy in the lifetime contract statements but he also presented himself as more untrustworthy every time he said he was retired, then he wasn't, then he was, ad infinitum...

Therefore it is more than understandable that Packer fans lost their "admiration" for him. It only takes one bad choice to wipe out a stellar career. Other athletes have learned the same lesson. Look at Joe Namath.
