I was going to say that Micro$oft's attempt to kill the used game market would be the Xbox 1's demise, but apparently they figured that out. I'm still getting a PS4... in about 2 years when the price comes down.

Wait, will either of them support keyboard/mouse for FPS's?

No, but then again you seem to base it off your opinion once again, which is not factual or statistical. sorry, you are wrong.

As I said before. The best PS1 game could not beat the best N64 game.

Then again, being out sold 3:1, n64 does not compare to ps1 : FACT, not opinion.

You are a fool. Popularity never makes something better than something else.
You show me one PS1 game better than this and then we can talk further. http://www.metacritic.com/game/nintendo-64/the-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time
This is not accounting how the N64 had better graphics either.

^ so now that I have proved you wrong, and called you out MANY times for just stating an opinion of yours, YOU want to resort to name calling? WOW..... can't stand being wrong much? Or is it the fact that you cannot comprehend simple math? Either way, your opinion does not matter when it comes to sales facts. What is more popular? Ps1. end of story.

You are the only one talking about popularity. The only things I have said are N64>PS1, The best game on PS1 couldn't touch the best game on N64, the two and a half men statement, As I said before. The best PS1 game could not beat the best N64 game.
That is everything I have said. Not a word has been typed by me about N64's popularity. N64 had the better graphics and games. To say that the PS1 sold more so it must of been better is foolish.

so....let me get this right.....things that sell really really well over their competition, are not good? Wow, that good sir, is marketing genious right there. Please don't ever go into business for yourself, I don't like to see private small business owners fail.

To get back on topic, the Xbox1 has now had a sudden change of heart and is following in the Ps4's footsteps.

ME: stating facts, by numbers, not opinions

YOU: Name calling, rating each of my posts "old", and basically stomping around like a little internet kid because you were wrong.....you are the simpleton here buddy, grow up son.

Stick to your little "fantasy" world of football, because those seem to be the only things stat wise you know about.

exactly, because the people at sony know what they are doing and how to BEAT the competition....and give a product that aint a P.O.S.

When someone suddenly starts to copy you, that means you are doing something right and they want in on the success.

So let me interject some of the context that I was trying to yesterday before I closed the tab on myself. Basically I said that the PS1 sold more because technologically it was superior, mostly due to the PS1's introduction of CD based storage instead of utilizing the, then, standard Cartridge based storage that Nintendo used. CD's can hold more information and be manufactured cheaper than Cartridges. That is one of the main reasons that the PS1 sold more units, they had lower SRP for their games than the N64 did.

And I'm sorry Osh, but citing the overall unit sales numbers is neither self evident or indicative of anything other than which system was more popular. It is not an accurate measure of the quality of the platform itself. Also you, just like Wood, are using your own opinion to present your view as the "correct" one. Honestly by virtue of your own self-admission over not really giving the N64 the time of day I'd say that your opinion is not really valid when trying to talk about this in a factual manner since you seemingly had little to no experience with the N64 system. You can't make an accurate judgement without actually having utilized both systems a substantial amount I'd say.

I actually still have a working and still used N64, so that defeats your prediction of me not having one. My youngest son uses it. In fact I have a lot of still functioning systems. I have: PS1, PS2,PS3, Wii, xbox, N64, Nintendo game cube, Sega genesis. All have a variety of games for each system. So.....I guess I don't know much about game systems or I must be bias, right? and you made YOUR statement out of pure guess.....I didn't need to state any facts about which systems I have or had owned, I have enough back ground on each of mine to make a fair judgement and comparison. I do admit to leaning to a sony system, only because they are infact better.

Yeah I made a best guess based on the information you provided, no need to rub my nose in being incorrect. And yeah, you do actually have to establish your credibility when talking about something on an academic/ factual level. Also experience by proxy really isn't valid either. >.> GG on the collection, that sounds like an impressive assortment. Nearly rivals the one my buddy has. Personally Sony took off with the PS2 in my mind. I really don't feel like participating in this fanboy fodder anymore though.

Sorry bro, didn't mean to come off rubbing your nose in anything, my bad. My biggest death as of lately was my original nintendo died :( Took it to a local electronics shop to see about getting it fixed and the guy said she was to far gone. Bummer, because I still rocked the tecmo bowl lol. I had a few other systems but i sold them off to collectors.

Agree about the PS2 and Sony taking off and kicking the competition in the teeth. I never did get an xbox360 due to the fact that my brother went through 3 of them in 9 months with the red ring of death. So, I never got into the 360 world. I can give it credit for having great titles (Halo series), but for the most part I am a Sony guy. Not getting a PS4 until a significant price drop happens.

The PS1 made a smart move with the CD format. Unfortunately this was pretty new so load times were long on some games and the CD was actually really easy to copy, making pirated games a normal thing. But the CD could hold so much more which caused some games to have higher resolution textures. The graphics in comparison to N64 though, pale in comparison.

That sucks man, I'm really sorry for your loss. Love me some Super Tecmo Bowl. If I hear of anyone looking to part with a NES I will try to get you two in contact with each other.

Not really a valid analogy. If Porsches, BMWs, Jaguars, Volvo, and my personal favorite, Audi sold all of their cars at the same price point that Kia does, Kia would never sell another car. There was no such wide price discrepancy between the PS1 and N64. Given that their prices were so similar, the fact that Sony sold more units holds significance. Personally, I didn't buy an N64 because I don't like cartoony games that must have the requisite Mario or Yoshi appearance.
