Not at all, because if Philly should fall hard, I think they could kick GB out of the wild card.

No they couldn't. Philly is already 10 wins, and they win the division if they finish 10-6 and the Giants 10-6.

And if we win against the Giants, they can't finish more than 10-6.

So. Win the last 2. In. That easy.

We have the tie breaker over TB due to strength of victory, assuming we beat NY and Chi.

I just figured it again and you're right. It's giving me a headache lol. And right again, Chicago and the Giants at GB, no sweat.

Simple- Win the next two at home and we're into the tournament. Lose either one and we're out.

The division would have been nice, but now its unlikely.

take care of business the next two weeks and we're in. Not only that, but winning that last game against the Bears may determine if we go to Philly or back to Chicago for that playoff game. either way both of these last two games are gonna have huge playoff implications

Not that simple... if we lose to the giants we're out.

If we beat giants, but lose to Chi, we need the giants to lose to Was in week 17 and TB to lose one of their last two (Seattle, NO) and we still get in.

Clearly it's much better to win our own games, but there are other scenarios.

hmm so I wasn't even right. one other scenario... if the bears lose out we get the division (whether we lose to NYG or not)

    Don't say that.

That actually makes me think the Vikings can win. Joe Webb is no Matt Flynn.

yeah I just saw that... ridiculous. there's no way he actually does though. 7 days ago his hand was purple while just standing there. Plus they've signed/brought up a 4th qb for the roster tonight... odd strategy but whatever.

Favre is just saying that because no one has talked about him for 2 hours. Or, maybe he'll lay down so Chicago wins. It's not like he hasn't laid down before (Strahan). I feel sorry for Webb, being told he's going to get his first nfl start, now he's back on the will he, won't he.

Does winning out not put us in the playoffs. We would have the head to head over the NYG if we beat them and finish with same record

Winning out puts us in the playoffs, guaranteed.

Chicago won the division tonight, but they still might have a first round bye to play for. A loss to the Jets this weekend coupled with a win at home vs. the Vikings by Philly won't eliminate the Bears from securing a first round bye provided they A) beat us and b) the Cowboys beat the Eagles.

Bottom line for us though is we need to win and we're in. We're probably not gonna get any favors either, unless the Bears find a way to knock off the Jets and the Vikings find a way to beat the Eagles this weekend. If that happens, the Bears will clinch the #2 seed regardless of what happens in week 17, which could make our path a little easier.

I think we could even go 1-1 (beating the Giants and losing to the Bears) and still make the playoffs if the 'Skins beat the Giants week 17.

True, we could, but A) the skins aren't beating the Giants and B) we should not rely on backing in to the playoffs. We need to put the pedal to the metal and win. No excuses, Super Bowl or Die!

so looking at the nfl playoff tracker, if we lose to the giants, its all but done for?

No.. It IS done for. We will have been eliminated since the Giants and Saints will have at least 10 wins while the most we'll be able to get is 9.
