Patriots are AFC favorites--or are they?

Interesting article here by Bill Syken of Sports Illustrated. He says that the Patriots' big off-season does not necessarily make them AFC favorites. I still think they are, but not by much. Syken makes a lot of good points here:

not only has everyone been calling them AFC favirotes they have been called superbowl favirotes over and over. I HATE THE PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Just because they are "favorites" doesn't mean they will win the SB!
Being labeled "the favorites" and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee.
You never know what the season might bring. What if Brady gets hurt or something? (I'm not wishing it, but it could happen) or what if all these big players suck? You just don't know what will really happen till it happens.

no i dont think so they got a few good draft picks but it doesnt win the Superbowl

we beat them in the superbowl a few years ago but they are a better team now

If they can all play together, it could be big for them. But IF the ego's get going, it could spell doom. I know it hasn't happened YET, but it could.
