Packers Packers, Wells likely will part ways

In so many words, Scott Wells is being told by the Packers that he has overvalued himself as an undersized, 31-year-old center no matter how well he has played for them. Wells basically is telling the team, "Watch what happens."

Why do I get a feeling regarding this that this offseason may take a turn for the worst? This will probably screw up our draft focus on improving the defense and Stingy Ted won't dip into FA, so in all likelihood Deitrich Smith will probably be our center or they'll take Konz with our first round pick, and bums and guys who can't do anything for us like Walden, Zombo and Neal will probably be kept around.

Hopefully a deal gets worked out though. I thought this would be a no-brainer resigning. Wells has played exceptional and I thought he'd be given new contract no problem.
