I would LOVE to have Micheal Hart from Michigan as our RB. This kid is amazing.....fast, great cuts, built like Barry Sanders....reminds me of Barry in his style. Would be a great addition to a zone blocking system.

You nailed this one tripster. I have said it before, TT needs to do whatever it takes to draft Mike Hart!!!!

I just hope that he doesn't get burnt out playing the rest of this year, as he is pretty much single handely carrying Michigan on his back, getting tham straightened out and once again becoming a contender for The Big Ten title.

THE GREEN BAY PACKERS SELECT MIKE HART RB MICHIGAN AS THEIR #1 PICK IN THE 2008 DRAFT!!!!!

I want to hear those words spoken next year by the commissioner.

Whatever it takes TT, you will probably have to trade up to get him but he will be worth it.

Edit.. hmmm I just looked at that mock draft and didn't see Hart's name anywhere(unless I missed it) so maybe he will be available for The Pack to take when their pick comes up.

Way to early to speculate on this though.

My thoughts exactly, and if a buckeye fan wants him, it must mean he's the perfect fit. Not to mention it would be sweet to have my favorite college player join my favorite team with my all time favorite player, chuckwood.

Saw that Rice has had almost 400 yds combined between sat/thurs on about 75 carries. That's incredible. I wouldn't mind having a workhorse back to just pound the ball all day every day in GB.

Since this is now a balls-out draft thread, why not throw out some draft-eligible non-seniors, being that its still only October. :D

This draft talk gets me excited. :)

Having to pick 32nd in the draft, I think our pickings will be slim  8)

I agree!

How about trading this pick?

After watching the USF-Rutgers game (and feeling effed over again by the officials), I would not mind seeing Ray Rice as a Packer. He's the type of back that can excel in any type of offense. (I'm not sure how he is at catching the ball out of the backfield but B-Jack can do that for us.

Jonathan Stewart of Oregon will probably go before Rice and Mike Hart. He's bigger, faster, and a downhill runner. Draft puts so much emphasis on measurables it's a little ridiculous. I really don't see Rice or Hart in a Packer uniform unless we trade down into round 2. Slaton from West Virginia intrigues me because of his game breaking ability. I think he could be a nice compliment with Wynn and maybe a late 1st rounder.

The only back that is a 1st round lock in my opinion is McFadden

draft

what do you think the packers draft needs are? i know its pretty early to talk about this but im curious to see some peoples opinions.

i think personaly we should get another red zone threat TE and running back in the 3rd or 4th round and some safties that can stop the run and the pass. also im think some offensive and defence of linemen (never hurts to draft them).

draft

id say a solid tackle.....clifton looks like hes on a downslide,

depending on how this grant kid pans out, maybe pick the kid slaton from west virginia if he slips

id say a good o line prospect,

a decent back if we can get one in the first round

weak side LB

some corners with speed and size (NO AHAMD CARROLS)

other than that, i guess best value on board

RB like Steve Slaton would add a great dynamic to our offense. I really like Jonathan Stewart from Oregon. He's growing on me as a late 1st round prospect if he enters. I believe he's a junior.

Sam Baker could possibly fall because he's been off the field a lot this year due to injuries. He'd be a nice prospect at LT.

I would say our needs rank as

1. Runningback
2. Offensive Line
3. Tight End
4. Cornerback
5. Linebacker (though I do like Poppinga)

1.) RB
2.) DB
3.) O-Line
4.) TE
5.) LB

If a left tackle falls to us in the first round we should probably take him. Clifton looks like he's almost done. If not, a cornerback would be nice. Blackmon can't stay healthy, plus Woodson and Harris aren't getting any younger, so it'd be nice to get a youngster we could plug in as a nickleback next year and then hopefully see him develop into a starter.

I'd really like us to get a 1st round elite TE, a Witten, a Heap or a Miller but Id settle for some young DB's to be groomed and perhaps some OLine cover.
