I think the only way I would seriously consider buying a share is if there was a perk or incentive involved.
Autograph day with the team.
Free tix to a game. (Could even be preseason)
Have an owners only game where the tix will only be sold to owners for that game.
All you can eat and drink. (Limit on beer though.)
1 annual free entry into Pack HOF.
Etc.

To me having bragging rights over a piece of paper just wouldn't be enough.

If you buy the stock, FF, I'll autograph it for you. Tempting, right?

And you call yourself a Packer fan? Given the chance, I'll get a share or two in a hearbeat.

Likewise. I was sound asleep the last time, and I don't intend to miss out this time.

Freekin bring it on. I will drive the 3 days to GB and camp out for a week if I have to, to get a share. I really Like the Idea of an shareholders only game or some other perks. Didn't really like the look of the shareholder ring though.

Team Tundra posted:"Absolutely. I purchased a share in '97 and I remember reading quotes from the Packers that they sold shares to addresses in all of the 50 states and several (can't remember the number) countries."

The Packers reported Packer share sales in all 50 states and in two U.S. territories in 1998-99. The two US territories were island territories in Pacific Ocean .

What was the process of buying stock in 97? Is there a list? Is it first come, first serve? Anyone think they will be available to buy online or will you have to do it in person???

goodell has no power over the stock sale.

They will do an official announcement during the season, not the preseason.

Just remember folks, as an owner you are no longer able to gamble. That means no more Las Vegas trips or betting on games. As well as the state lotteries. The rules apply for "ALL" owners of NFL teams.

Saving those penny's, and too all the fans that whine how its worthless, think of it like this: how many other teams allow you to get a piece of paper that says that "I am an owner." True Packers fans may be gullible at buying memorabilia, "Frozen tundra?" but its still gives more than what most teams give. Example, the frozen tundra the Packers sold was stepped on, and played on by SB caliber teams, teams that brought the Lombardi home, not some deflated balloon top from a team with an empty trophy case.
