How do you choke up a 2 possession lead that fast?

    Unbelievable.

I don't care if this ends up with a win or a loss. This is absolutely pathetic.

And anyone who tries to come in here and tell me it's not/we're fine/stop worrying is an idiot.

What is this DEFENSE you speak of? I've never heard of it.

I wasn't impressed with SF's defense today. They were fortunate Washington didn't have a real QB. In our game, yet another team falls to the mistaken impression that they can win a shootout. But the Defense did look thoroughly confused today. They were stumbling all over each other. I don't think the bye helped them.

I'm not ok.... but we at least somehow, every time, become clutch in the final seconds with a turnover.

True, but our defense is literally living and dying by the turnover. Not every QB in this league in Rivers or Cutler

The defense played pathetic today, simply pathetic. And thats saying alot considering they had two pick 6's. If you do that and still have a pathetic performance that must mean it was really abysmal.
keep in mind rivers hasn't had a great season up to this point, and other than the picks he looked unstoppable.

The Packers' Defense Tebow'd this game. Play like crap the first 59 minutes, then get a clutch stop in the last 1.

I agree for the most part, I've been saying for awhile that people in here talking about all that matters is the W have blinders on. That said, this team has flaws but 31 other teams would take our flaws over their own. This team has potential to be great, I want to see them fulfill that potential.

Ya the 49ers are one of the least scary teams we might face in the playoffs. Smith is actually worse than Rivers and Cutler. At least they can chuck it.

I blame Aaron Rodgers for luring the defense into a false sense of security. It seems like they are playing a pick up style of defense where everyone is willing to give up big plays to gamble on a turnover. It needs to be tightened up before the playoffs because if A-Rod has an off game we will lose.

I wouldn't even say we clutched it in the end. This was by far the worst defensive performance of the year. I learned a couple things about our defense. We can't generate a 4 man pass rush. Every time we blitz it gets picked up. We can't tackle. Our defensive backs have a mindset of an interception every time, so they leave their assignments in order try to break on a route that is not even being thrown to. This all adds up to a terrible defense. We need to get this fixed if we want to win another Superbowl. I hate criticizing a win , but this is just ridiculous.

I sure hope we get this defense fixed, cause right now, they are playing really bad and im afraid that they might cost us in the playoff :/

Its a problem that needs to be assessed. like Stylez said its gonna cost us a game, I just really hope its a regular season game, not a playoff game where its win or go home.
And I really hope no one uses the moniker "a win is a win", or says it'll get fixed, or this happened so-and-so season ago and the defense got better, because we shouldn't have had the game come down to the wire. It should have been over when we were up 3 scores with 9 minutes left.
I don't feel like pressure is an issue like it was the first 5 or 6 games of the season, I thought the overall pressure on rivers was good this game. The secondary was just terrible though. missed assignments, blown coverage, you name it. They looked lost at times and its actually hard to watch at this point. The linebackers are getting smoked in the middle of the field as well. I don't know if thats the coaches to blame or if its just inevitable when you have hawk, zombo, and bishop going up against athletic TE's and WR's. I'm not gonna get too mad at the linebackers not being able to cover, but our secondary needs to get its act together. It's a problem.

NONSENSE. What good is "chucking" the ball when if it results in turnovers.?!?!?
Alex has 10 TDs and 2 INTs for the year. The offense is balanced and the defense is DOMINANT.
GB may win the NFCCG but they won't score 45 on the Niners. I gaurantee it.

Ah well, respect will come with time. The Niners will prove they're legit to folks eventually.

I'm going to puke this showing was so disgusting. It may not have cost us the game today but at this rate it will! This is the first time I'm going to go the bed feeling like crap after a win. Our defense is scary bad right now.

you guys a have a well balanced team, but there will come a time when you have to rely on alex smith and the pass to win a game. Not just good D and running the ball.

But back to the topic at hand, our D is terrible unfortunately. I hate it cause I feel like this team would be completely unstoppable if we had a slightly above average D, but their looking pedestrian at this point.

Neal needs to come back. Be good. Not get hurt. Lack of a pass rush is going to kill us.

That 2nd last drive by SD, where Clay forced an intentional grounding and quick incomplete screen... yeah. That's my guy!

According to stats, Capers blitzes more than any other DC in the league and yet we still can't get to the QB. It's always picked up.

Strange trends on 3rd down they bring pressure and leave the middle of the field more wide open than a pornstars vag. It's terrible.

The prevent has been used by Capers for a while now. Last year after Raji's INT return in the NFCCG, Capers went into the prevent and Caleb Hanie orchestrated a drive for a touchdown in less than 2 minutes.

Capers is a good coordinator but sometimes he makes the most ridiculous calls.
